1: Mia Elizabeth, Watching you change and grow throughout the year has been so precious to your dad and I. You're our beautiful baby girl! The memories in each picture will remain with us forever. In this book you will see how fast time goes, how much we value family and friends, and most importantly... how much you are loved!
5: September 12, 2009 For your first birthday, your dad and I planned on having a swimming party and cookout over at nana and popa's house. The day ended up being a very rainy day. I went to go pick up your balloons and it was a downpour. When I got to nana's house to drop them off, I was crying. I wanted everything to be fun for you on your first birthday. Nana told me everything would work out just fine and it really did. Your dad took all the food and grilled it under our patio, so he wouldn't get soaked. Everyone showed up. You were surrounded by family and friends. You had so many presents. You didn't really like to open presents yet, so all the kids helped you. Your first birthday cake was Yo Gabba Gabba. You loved the cartoon and all the characters. Not so much eating the cake though. You didn't really like sweet food. But, you did like when everyone sang Happy Birthday. Your dad and I helped you make your first wish. We had practiced blowing out a candle at home, but you weren't quite ready to do it on your own. Your first birthday was a fun day. You looked absolutely adorable!

86: After we played in the rain on July 9th, you and I came in for dinner. You were playing in the bedroom. I came in to get you to eat pizza. You came running down the hall and lost your balance. When you fell, you hit your head really hard on the door frame going into our laundry room. I was so scared to flip you over, because I knew from the sound it was going to be bad. Sure enough you were bleeding above your eye. It was split open. I called nana and daddy, because I knew you would need stitches. I was so sad. I have had stitches three times on my face. I never wanted you to have any, but you got them in almost the exact spot as me. Nana came over until daddy got home. Daddy and I took you to the Well Fast Clinic. I never want to see you go through anything like that again. You ended up with three stitches!
