Mom's mothers day gift - Page Text Content

S: Larry Dennis Jenkins Dec. 20, 1958-March 8,2013

BC: Do not shed tears because I have gone but smile instead because I have lived. Do not shut your eyes and pray to God that I'll come back but open your eyes and see all that I have left behind. I know your heart will be empty because you cannot see me but still I want you to be full of the love we shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live only for yesterday or you can be happy for tomorrow because of what happened between us yesterday. You can remember me and grieve that I have gone or you can cherish my memory and let it live on. You can cry and lose yourself, become distraught and turn your back on the world or you can do what I want - smile, wipe away the tears, learn to love again and go on.

FC: Not how did he die, but how did he live? Not what did he gain, but what did he give? These are the units to measure the worth Of a man as a man, regardless of birth. Not, what was his church, nor what was his creed? But had he befriended those really in need? Was he ever ready, with word of good cheer, To bring back a smile, to banish a tear? Not what did the sketch in the newspaper say, But how many were sorry when he passed away.

1: Just close your eyes and you will see All the memories that you have of me Just sit and relax and you will find I'm really still there inside your mind Don't cry for me now I'm gone For I am in the land of song There is no pain, there is no fear So dry away that silent tear Don't think of me in the dark and cold For here I am, no longer old I'm in that place that's filled with love Known to you all, as "UP ABOVE"

4: I thought of you with love today but that is nothing new I thought about you yesterday and days before that too, I think of you in silence I often speak your name All I have are memories and your picture in a frame Your memory is my keepsake with which I’ll never part God has you in His keeping I have you in my heart.

6: He Didn't Have to Be

7: But he was

11: If I should go tomorrow It would never be goodbye, For I have left my heart with you, So don't you ever cry. The love that's deep within me, Shall reach you from the stars, You'll feel it from the heavens, And it will heal the scars.

13: We think about you always, we talk about you still, you have not been forgotten, Dad and you never will. We hold you close within our hearts, and there you will remain, To walk and guide us through our lives until we meet again.

14: Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glint on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn rain. When you wake in the morning hush, I am the swift, uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circling flight. I am the soft starlight at night. Do not stand at my grave and weep. I am not there, I do not sleep. Do not stand at my grave and cry. I am not there, I did not die!

15: Time Marches on

16: When a loved one becomes a memory That memory becomes a treasure.

18: Looking back with memories, Upon the path you trod, We bless the hours we had with you, And leave the rest with God

22: We can't have old days back When we were all together. But secret tears and loving thoughts Will be with us forever.

23: Little did we know that morning God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone. For part of us went with you, the day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide. And though we cannot see you, you are always by our side. Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same. But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.

24: I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one. I'd like to leave an after glow of smiles when life is done. I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days. I'd like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun of happy memories that I leave when life is done

27: “I have only slipped away into the next room, I am I and you are you. Whatever we were to each other, that we still are. Call me by my old familiar name. Speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Play, smile, think of me. All is well.” | God saw him getting tired, a cure was not to be. He wrapped him in his loving arms and whispered ‘Come with me.’ He suffered much in silence, his spirit did not bend. He faced his pain with courage, until the very end. He tried so hard to stay with us but his fight was not in vain, God took him to His loving home and freed him from the pain.
