2: NeElla Esther Benoit Appi, my mother went into labor on September 16, 1949 while attending the Eastern States Agricultural Fair, otherwise known as the Big E in Springfield, Massachusetts. She was in the cow barn at the time and told my father, Andrew that if it was good enough for the baby Jesus to be born in a stable then it was certainly good enough for their child to be born in one, too. Luckily, my father was able to get her to the hospital in Townshend, Vermont where I was born at 9am on September 17. That same year an albino buffalo was spotted. I was told it was a good sign. And so my story began.
4: NoElla Esther Benoit was born in Wardsboro, Vermont on September 9, 1929. She was the eighth of nine children born to Harmidas and Florence Benoit. | Andrew Charles Appi was the fifth of eight children born to Giustino and Boneventura Appi. He was born on July 16, 1923 in New Haven, Connecticut
5: Harmidas and Florence Benoit from Wardsboro, Vermont were my mother's parents. Harmidas was born in Canada in 1882. Florence Edwards was born in Massachussets in 1897. | Giustino and Boneventura Appi from Atrani, Italy were my father's parents. Giustino was born in 1890 and Boneventura Rispoli was born in 1893
6: My first home was in Springfield, Vermont with Aunt Ceil and Uncle Lloyd. Mom tried living in New Haven with Dad's family but wanted to have her baby in Vermont with her family around her. Dad's job kept him in New Haven so he would come to Vermont on weekends to see us. | Gloria Evelyn Appi September 17, 1949

12: When I was three, Mom became pregnant with Sharon and we moved to Wooster Street, New Haven from Aunt Ceil's house in Springfield, VT to be with Dad full time. After Sharon was born we moved from the apartment building to a house on Rose Street.
13: Many great Sunday afternoons were spent watching the trains from the bridge in New Haven or the the planes taking off and landing at Tweed New Haven airport.

17: My education began in nursery school at Saint Michael's in New Haven and continued on to Nursing School at St. Gabriel's Hospital also in New Haven. 20: Alfonse Dominic Raiano was the only son of Dominic and Rose Raiano. He was born in New Haven on March 14, 1946. | Gloria and Al met in 1965 at the Yale-New Haven Emergency room where she worked as an ER aide and he was an ambulance attendant. She was in high school and he was in college. They dated for a year and married while Al was still in college and Gloria was in nursing school.
21: On June 29, 1968, Gloria and Al were married at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Hamden, Connecticut by Father Charles McDonald..

23: Al was a mortician and funeral director. He died of leukemia on September 1, 1975

26: Gloria met Rick the first time at the wedding of a mutual friend in 1974. They sat at the same table at the reception. They met again a year later at a softball game that the same friend was playing in with Rick. Soon after they started dating and married 6 weeks after their first date. | Richard Maher Hudson was born in Stamford, Connecticut on March 16, 1948. He was the 2nd son of Paul and Frances Hudson.
27: Gloria and Rick were married by a Justice of the Peace in Cheshire, CT. on September 13, 1976. On December 3, 1976 they had the marriage blessed in Wheatridge, Colorado
