FC: The Pellitteri Family
Hi! We're the Pellitteri family, David, Amy, Madeline & Anthony. Thank you for taking the time to consider us as the potential family for your child. We want you to know how much we respect you for making such a selfless and loving decision for your child. Adoption was something that we discussed even when we were dating. David was raised in a family that did foster care throughout his childhood years and has always had a heart for adoption and foster care as a result of that experience. We have been blessed with 2 biological children, and still feel that we have more love to give so we have made the decision to add to our family through adoption. We hope this book gives you an understanding of who we are as a family, and why we have chosen to adopt. We know you have some tough decisions to make, and pray that God will give you wisdom and peace. Thank you for reading our story!
David and Amy met at a New Year's Eve party. We were partners in a board game and beat all of our friends! We knew there was something more there than just being great board game partners, and our first official date was on Valentine's Day. As we spent more time together we quickly found out that we shared a lot of the same values. Family and our faith were 2 of the most important parts of our lives, and it didn't take long for us to know we wanted to share the rest of our lives together. In December of that year, David surprised Amy with a romantic, special proposal and we were married the following October in a beautiful ceremony and fun reception with our family and friends. We're going on 7 years of marriage, and besides being deeply in love, we're best friends | Our Story
We love spending time together, whether it's enjoying dinner out, or swinging through the rainforest together!
David loves his job and is very passionate about his work as the VP of Finance in his family's business. The kids and I are very thankful that he has a lot of flexibility in his work schedule to be at the kids events, doctors appointments, or even just to be home when one of us is sick. We are so thankful that his job provides the finances for me to stay home with the kids full-time. | David is a wonderful father to Madeline and Anthony. Hands-on would be the best way to describe him. There is nothing he won't do for his kids, whether it's changing diapers, wrestling on the living room floor with them, or cuddling them while singing their favorite songs. He loves the outdoors and enjoys hunting and fishing. He can't wait to teach our kids everything he knows about animals, and the great outdoors! As a husband he is my teammate! He knows exactly what needs to be done to keep things running in our house, and in order with our kids. He's always willing to pitch in and help out so that we have plenty of time to spend together as a family! | David | David as our Provider
 David loves baby cuddles!
Patience & Love. This sums up why Amy is a great mother. She has such great patience that helps her nurture our kids. No matter the situation she is able to connect with them and communicate on their level. The love that she has for our children shines through every moment she is with them. She has much more love to give to a new addition to our family. | When David and I were first dating I told him about my desire to stay home with my children one day. Both of our moms were home with us when growing up, and we agreed we shared the same desire for our future children. I consider it a privilege to be home with my kids, as I know it's not a possibility for all women. I love that I get to be a witness to all of the little things they do every day, and that I can go on field trips, and be part of their daily routines. I look forward to being here for my kids as they continue to grow. It's my desire that they will always feel my love and devotion for them. | Amy as a stay-at-home mom | David talks about Amy
Madeline is our free-spirited, 5 year-old daughter. She lives life to the fullest, and is not afraid to be her own person. She loves picking out her own outfits, and mixing as many colors and patterns in one outfit is considered a success for her. She takes swimming lessons and karate, and has tried her hand at ballet, gymnastics, and soccer in the past. She has such a sweet spirit and love for others. She is very excited for us to have a new baby, and has promised to change all of the diapers, rock the baby to sleep, and do "everything for us." We know she will be a great big sister to her new baby brother or sister! | Madeline
Anthony is our soon to be 3 year-old. He tends to live life in fast-forward, and if something involves messes, or climbing he's right there! He never stops talking, and keeps us laughing with all of the silly stuff he says. He wants to be just like his daddy, so he likes to pretend he's driving his car to work, or playing soccer. One of his favorite activities right now is gymnastics. He amazes us with his ability to jump, flip, and run. Anthony has taken quite the interest in babies recently, and does such a good job of being kind and gentle. He loves to help out and we know that he will be a great big brother! | Anthony
We're pretty laid back about messes and spills in our house!
Our Dogs | Lucy and Sadie are our 2 dogs. Lucy sleeps in bed with Madeline every night. Sadie is still a puppy, so she's got lots of spunk! They are both great with our kids! | Sadie | Lucy
Our House | We live in a neighborhood made up of families with younger children. We enjoy the fact that our neighborhood is quiet and safe. One of our kids favorite things to do is play in the sprinkler in our yard. And since this is Wisconsin, during the winter they have lots of opportunities to play outside in the snow!
Family is incredibly important to us. We are blessed to have both sides of our family here in town with us. Amy's parents live less than a mile away, and David's parents live just a short 15 minute drive from our house. Every Sunday we go to church as a family with Amy's parents. After church we have brunch at Amy's parents house and then finish up with dinner with David's family. Sunday is a day full of family, and we love it! | Family
David's parents are known as Mimi and Papa, and Amy's are known as Nana and Papa. With all of them living so close, David and I get the pleasure of lots of babysitting and our kids get the joy of spending lots of quality time with their grandparents! Both sides of our family are very excited about our adoption plans, and are eager to welcome a new baby into the extended family. We know they will love, cherish, and spoil our new baby!
We tend to be pretty laid back parents, and don't stress out about the small stuff. If our kids clothes don't exactly match, but they're proud of the fact that they picked out their own outfit, we're okay with it. We understand that raising kids involves messes, and accidents, and don't get too worked up about age appropriate mistakes. We try to instill in them a concrete sense of right and wrong, Good behavior, and respect for authority are very important to us. We believe that children learn best and behave best when they've received lots of one-on-one attention from their parents, and hugs and cuddles. We by no means have it all figured out, but we're willing to admit our mistakes and grow from them.
Family traditions are important to us. For Christmas we have an elf named Charlie who appears after Thanksgiving and every morning appears in a new spot. The kids look forward to waking up and finding his new hiding spot! For Easter we have an egg hunt at Amy's parents house. Every summer we take a trip with Amy's family to an amusement park. We also love going to the pumpkin patch in the fall, and David's family hosts an annual Halloween party where the kids can carve pumpkins and eat yummy treats. We also own a camper and try to take a few camping trips throughout the summer. | Traditions
Our Faith | Our faith is a central part of our lives, and we do our best to make it a significant part of our children's lives as well. We go to a non-denoninational church, and believe in having a personal relationship with God. We go to church weekly, our kids attend Vacation Bible School in the summer, and Madeline participates in AWANA at our church. Madeline attended preschool at our church's school, and our kids will go there for elementary school. While our faith is incredibly important to our family, our greatest desire is to show love to everyone, without passing judgement, and our desire is to teach our children how to love God and love others.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know our family. We are excited for the opportunity to expand our family through adoption, and would be honored if you choose us to adopt your baby. We want you to know that we will unconditionally love and cherish your baby and we will forever honor you for this selfless, loving choice you are making. We look forward to meeting you and getting to know you, and would love to stay in touch with you through the years with pictures, letters, and emails if you would like. No matter what decision you make, we are praying for wisdom and peace for you. | David, Amy, Madeline & Anthony
