BC: This book as been made with love for you! Thank you so much for taking time to get to know a little bit about us. May God bless you!
As parents of a child, we understand that you probably want to know as much about us as possible. We want our lives to be an open book to you. Our lives revolve around relationships, so I think describing a few of these relationships to you is the clearest way to see into the heart of our family. Our number one relationship is with God. The primary reason that we want to adopt is that we know God has a plan for every one of us. Your son or daughter will undoubtedly be an awesome individual and do remarkable things with his or her life. We want to be a part of those great things, and we want you to be part of those things too. The second most important relationship we have is with our family. As husband and wife, we struggle with everyday life the way everyone else does. Alone, we are nothing special, but the love we have together in our marriage gets us through all the tough times we encounter. We have been married for seven years, and each year we fall in love a little deeper. Our daughter, Lily is the greatest blessing we have ever received. Her sweet voice and precious heart make us smile even as we write this. We have been blessed with a wonderful, caring extended family that supports each other in everything we do. All the loving grandparents, playful cousins, and caring aunts and uncles are a gift that we have done nothing to deserve. The relationships that we have with our friends follow next. We share our lives with a fairly small group of friends that share common goals and morals. This group of friends has become like a second family with whom we can share our successes and our struggles. Most weeks we spend many hours together doing things we enjoy. In all of our relationships, children are very important. From helping in the children's ministry in our church family to helping out a friend by keeping their kids for an afternoon, children are a very important part of our life together. We feel that our goal as Christians, family and friends is to help train the children in our lives into kind, responsible, self-controlled, independent adults. We want you to feel, as we do, that there is a special place in our family for you and your child. Thank you for getting to know us. We have been praying so many months for both of you and are excited to know you. With Love, Ben & Abbie
 Our Story
Our story together began when we were college students. We met through mutual friends, and as we spent more time together we fell in love. We finished college and married in May 2003 in a small family wedding. We moved from Birmingham to Montgomery in 2005 to be closer to family. We bought our first home in Montgomery and were blessed with Lily in 2008. We love laughing and playing together as a family.
About Ben | Ben graduated from college in 2003 with a Biology degree. He moved with Abbie in 2005 to Montgomery to take a sales position in his family's tractor company. When he is not working, he is at home remodeling the house or playing with Lily. Ben's hobbies are cooking and fishing. He doesn't get to fish much, but when he does, he gets away from home with his friends to go fishing in Florida. His sweet tooth leads to the smell of many cakes and cookies being baked in the kitchen. "I love Ben because he is a man of integrity and high character. He always treats others as he would like to be treated. His ability to remain calm and have a gentle spirit is what attracts me to him over and over again. My relationship with him is more than I ever dreamed it would be and a blessing that I am thankful for daily." -Abbie
Ben's Family | Ben's dad is a financial adviser, and his mother is a stay-at-home grandmother. They live on a farm along the Alabama River where they have horses and chickens. His younger brother is married with 3 children and lives close by. Ben's younger sister is recently married and lives in Philadelphia. The 3 siblings and their families spend a lot of time on the farm together. His entire extended family goes on vacation together each year.
 About Abbie
Abbie graduated from college in 2002. She worked full-time at a private boarding school in administration and as a dorm parent. After moving to Montgomery in 2005, she then worked for a local church before quitting to stay at home. Lily came along in 2008 and life changed tremendously for the better. Now Abbie spends her time playing with Lily, hanging out with friends from church, participating in church ministries, sewing for her small business and dabbling in photography on the side. "I love Abbie because of her kind heart and sensitive spirit. She can sense when someone has a need without them needing to say it. When someone has a need, she is quick to help solve the problem. The way she uses her gifts to take care of our family makes me love her more each day. " -Ben
Abbie's Family | Abbie's dad is retired from the military and her mom still works from home. They live a short drive away in a suburb of Montgomery. Her sister is married and has 4 children. The family meets regularly for birthday parties, holidays and other special occasions. Family is very important to Abbie and she keeps in contact with her grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins who live in North Alabama and Tennessee.

Our Home | My home is in heaven. I'm just traveling through this world. -Billy Graham
Our home is a modest sized, 1940's era house that we purchased from a good friend who was the original owner. The things we love about our home are the proximity to downtown, the city park that is just outside our back gate and the joy we get from changing features of the house to make it our own.
