1: ...the chances that 2 people from different continents meet on a 3rd?
2: What are the chances that the day I leave for my high school reunion, the security system breaks down? And the wait is over 3hrs? I miss my first flight? Arrive in Chicago and miss the next flight by 5 mins? Re-routed through Japan, I arrive in Tokyo and miss the connection there by 30mins? And arrive in Singapore only 1hr after my mother arrives, and my bags are there and hers are lost? Hmmmm.
3: ...the chances that I wanted to go scuba diving so badly, but didn't bring my certificate... so my mom and I choose to snorkel off of Phi Phi Island and wind-up sitting on a bus in front of two young ladies with very proper British accents. As fate would have it, they planned to go diving the very next morning.
4: ...the chances that we had a boat ride for 4.5hrs to get to the diving location & 4.5hrs returning --- so we had to fill the time with conversation?
5: ... the chances we are paired up by our West Coast Divers Master Diver to be diving buddies? And she let me dive with her, even though I used up all my oxygen before he was 2/3rds through hers.
6: ...the chances that West Coast Divers had a special to return and dive 2 days later... and Daxa wanted to dive again... and when I mentioned I'm not sure I could convince my mom to let me spend another entire day away diving with this girl from the UK... Daxa and Veena said they would be happy to eat dinner with my mom... and help!
7: ...the chances that when we part ways, swapping email addresses (Daxa gave me her sister's email address... and I said we probably wouldn't see each other again... I mean, "What are the chances?"
8: ...the chances that although I sent an email from my Blackberry while saying goodbye in Phuket, I wasn't sure I would receive a response, much less any authentic correspondence. She gave me her sister's email address... not even her own???
9: ...the chances I take an interest in Bollywood and I meet Vijay and Sudha Pandya who run Suraj Imports and teach me to say, "Kem Chho?" And expose me to some great movies?

20: ...the chances that I get to know 5 yr old, Kajal and care provider, Grace... taking them to lunch once a week for the next 9 months?
21: ...the chances a lady named Marion asks about learning Hindi to Vijay and gives her my personal information from his DVD records... she calls and we meet her for Vegetarian Indian food and meet her dear friend, Rekha and her husband Pratap and their children (lower-left)... 22: ...the chances I am in an Italian restaurant and meet a family from India whose daughter, Rainu plays in a rock band in Nashville... and later her band, Faith In Shadows played at a fund raiser for Kajal.
23: I'm invited to play music one Friday night for charity... for the Salvation Army, while they feel homeless people in downtown Nashville. One Friday turns into 51 Fridays... The Homeless Revolution.
24: ...the chances I have an opportunity to help create fundraisers for SOUP (society of underprivillaged people), which is the charity that rescued Kajal. The children are real and regardless of their past, still full of joy. What a blessing to connect with them.
25: I'm invited to attend Diwali (festival of lights) in Nashville... and meet the Gujarati Association of Middle Tennessee.
26: ..the chances I am Invited to India to visit Grace in Allahabad and Sejal in Surat...
27: ...the chances I visit Agra, Jaipur and Varanasi... and then visit London on the return trip.
28: ...the chances I am at a songwriting event where they ask me "If you could write any song, what would you write?" and I said, "Gujarati" and then when no one could help, I went for a coke and met Aradhana & Pankaj & Sonali
29: ...the chances I am on a business trip to Dallas, Texas where I meet up with a colleague, Madhulika, who finds out I love Indian food... she invites me to the Clap Pit for a meal with her husband, Nimish.

It was not my interest to get married, but to meet here parents... odd that now I might have to be married to meet her parents. Hmmm...
