1: Welcome to the first Pathfinder reunion of Southwest Region Conference. Years of planning has advanced the anticipation of this wonderful occasion. I salute those who have pioneered this ministry to meet with those who are carrying it on today. It is also important for those today to see how far this ministry have come. Most importantly, we all are looking with anticipation to see what God will do in the future. I am grateful for those who have labored to bring such an awesome event together. My heart rejoice as well to see those who have sacrificed to get here. As we fellowship and reminisce on this beautiful camp ground, please be mindful of how God has lead us in the past. I look ahead and move with confidence as I see the skills and talents of our youth. Praise God for what He has done and will do. We know what the end will be as we keep our eyes on the prize. 7: Elder Rogers Johnson, your leadership has been noteworthy! Your care and concern for each youth and their leader has seen in your commitment and service. Through the years, you have been solid and dutiful in training the “special army” – Pathfinders, thank you for your leadership! The leaders through the years have been tremendously impacting on Youth Ministries in Southwest Region. In the recent years, Elders Billy E. Wright, James L. Black, Langston Sylvester, and Keith Gray has embolden the ministry. Thank you gentlemen for all that you have done to lead and bring about this milestone we celebrating this week. I would like to thank the Administrative Assistants that through the years have provided leadership in their own way to the growth of Pathfinder ministry in the Conference. Specifically Ms. Lulliether Massiah, who has done above and beyond ministry! Thank you! The Area Coordinators and the Assistants have done an outstanding job through the years. Thank you! As we look to the BEYOND, may God lead us not just to another thirty year milestone, but to the Pathfinder Camporee in the earth made new! For His Kids, Pastor Roger R. Wade, Director Youth & Pathfinder Ministries

8: After my military experience, I knew God had something special for the training He had allowed me to received. I came to Fort Worth in 1979 and was asked to be the Grace Temple Pathfinder Club in 1981. This was an exciting time for me to see what God would do. We started with a membership of 8 Pathfinders and in 2 years we had a membership of 53. God's grace is sufficient, and along with pathfinders and family members, we were able to baptize over 150 wonderful souls into God's remnant church. I enjoy working with young people and watching them grow and develop into laborers for Christ. Our method of evangelism was to go to the park, and neighborhood where we would do marching and drilling and invite other youth to join us. We had the privilege of joining several local clubs and went on numerous adventures. We performed with City Temple Pathfinder Club under the leadership of Ronald Thibodeaux on trips to Weatherford , Mineral Wells, Cleburne State Park, and Denton. Cleburne club joined with us, as well as Waxahachie and Garland. In 1993 I was asked by Pastor Black to become the SWRC Conference Coordinator. I really didn't know what this entailed, but I agreed to accept the position. One of the adventures included; a 14 days, 476 Pathfinders, 7 buses from Dallas Texas to Calgary Alberta, Canada. During that trip, Pastor Black had to return to Texas because of a tragedy, and I was left in charge of the entire group in Canada. That was the first time that I realized the magnitude of the job of Pathfinder Conference Coordinator. In the next few years we took 575 pathfinders to Nassau Bahamas, as well as Santa Fe New Mexico for a Ski Trip. We also attended four International Camporee in Oshkosh WI. I have had the awesome opportunities to serve under several Youth Directors. Those include Pastor Lanston Sylvester, Pastor Keith Gray, and presently Pastor Roger R. Wade. Over the years new Pathfinder Clubs were added. My Pathfinder journey has included; Youth Rallies, local Youth congresses, United Youth Congresses, National B.A.Y.D.A. Camporees, Union Camporee and this awesome journey continues. During the period between Youth Directors we took upon ourselves to take over 500 youth to Ocha Rios Jamaica. This was a very successful and enjoyable trip, thanks to our administrative assistant and Interim Youth Director, Ms Lulleither Messiah. God's vision for the pathfinders never changed. We are still called to take "this message to all the world in this generation". Our present vision is to witness an "ARMY OF YOUTH RIGHTLY TRAINED". We will keep our vision alive. We look forward to a future that is directed by God and completed by brave leaders and well developed pathfinders. | Elder Rogers Johnson Pathfinder Director

9: emembering Pathfinders from 1979 to 1991 As I begin my journey through the fertile lands of Pathfindering, I must pause to give honor and respect to those upon whose platform I built. My honorable colleagues include Elder Lee Paschal, Sr. who is the “patriarch” and founder of pathfinders in the Southwest Region Conference of Seventh-day Adventist. He passed the baton on to Elder E. Wayne Shepherd in 1966. Elder Shepherd passed the Baton on to Elder Randolph Stafford in 1973. Elder Stafford passed the baton on to Elder Glenn Howell who in turn passed it on to yours truly in March of 1979. It was during this time that pathfinders really exploded in the Conference. It was our goal to establish a pathfinder club in every church. Many churches responded to the challenge for which we were grateful. Pathfinders became the place to be. Winter Camps and Polar Bear Camping was always exciting, enabling us to put our camping skills to test. Spring Camporees brought most of our clubs to Lone Star Camp. It was here that clubs got a chance to demonstrate their uniquenesses, participate in various competitions of which the Drilling and Marching was always the most popular. This event always happened during the first week of Campmeeting and many of the saints came to Campmeeting to give their physical support for our pathfinders. Another popular event during the Spring Camporee was the pathfinder parade through the grounds of Lone Star Camp. It was thrilling to see the people line up with great anticipation along the parade route to see the young people parade for God. The pathfinders also participated in witnessing in the city of Athens and to parts of its community. I personally visited with the proper authorities and was given permission for our Pathfinders to hold an annual parade in the City of Athens, Texas. This was the beginning of pathfinder parades in the City of Athens. We made the front page of the local newspaper several times. It was a great witnessing event. Literature was passed out along the parade route and people we met were extended an invitation to come and visit us at our Campmeeting at Lone Star Camp. Spring Camporee was the ‘go to” to event of the year. I enjoyed it immensely. It was also a joy for the pathfinders of Southwest Region to participate in the only two North American Division Camporees. One being the “We Are His Hands” Camporee that was held in Camp Hale, Colorado in 1985; and the other being “We Are His Colors” Camporee that w
