S: About a Pepper
April 23, 2012 Brightening the world for 26 years.
“Pepper is full of vitality, life, and strength. I love being around her, her playful spirit is so contagious. Happy Birthday to Pepper!”
“She has a natural warmth and a way of making one feel welcome and at home, like you’ve been friends with her for a long time... | She’s also smart, funny, beautiful and she has a great laugh and an infectious smile.”
“Pepper, you are the spiciest friend of Mimi’s that I know, and I am so glad to have been graced with your creativity and your electric smile. You will always be the Empress of Earrings!” | “Pepper, you are the spiciest friend of Mimi’s that I know, and I am so glad to have been graced with your creativity and your electric smile. You will always be the Empress of Earrings!”
“Pepper is an explosion of confetti, a low-latitude aurora borealis, and a sharkbannana convention. Does the earth going around the sun cause Pepper to have a birthday, or does Pepper’s birthday cause the earth to go around the sun?” | “Pepper is an explosion of confetti, a low-latitude aurora borealis, and a sharkbannana convention. Does the earth going around the sun cause Pepper to have a birthday, or does Pepper’s birthday cause the earth to go around the sun?”
“Pepper, you’re just plain fun. It’s also good to know that there is someone out there that also loves David Bowie, the Talking Heads, awesome movies, awesomely bad movies, and silly shit in general.”
 “Pepper’s giggle is the best!”
“Katelyn Pepper is a technicolor kazowie with sprinkles on top!”
“There are many ways to describe this rare specimen called Pepper: the sprinkles on a cupcake, an urchin in a deep sea, a walking kaleidoscope... Contact with Pepper simulates the joy derived from traveling to whimsical places.”
Andy said we are a ”giggle oscillator,“ with laughter bouncing from one end of the table to the other. I could not be a giggle oscillator without you, thank you. | Andy said we are a ”giggle oscillator,“ with laughter bouncing from one end of the table to the other. 12: Pepper sends chills down my spine... The good kind that tickles a little and makes you go “Ooo, I like!” Then after the icy comes the hot: her holiday attire, her food, her designer wizardry... a vortex of superbly contrasting sensations. Pepper is the fiery mango meltdown of everyone's frosty forbidden island.
“Pepper is so full of happy energy – every time I’m around her, I feel like there’s a little bit of magic surrounding her, making everyone nearby more whimsical.”
“My first vegan drinks after moving to San Francisco was the night that I met Pepper. I went out for falafel and then to Cat Club for dancing. Pepper was the one who I connected with and who made me feel like a part of the group. I did not necessarily feel comfortable with a lot of people but Pepper went out of her way to make me feel included. That is what I have come to know as Pepper’s special talent, she goes out of her way to make people feel welcome and included. It is a skill I am envious of and hope to gain at some point. Though I do love that she appreciates my sassy bitch side too.”
“I can’t really be around pepper without laughing. Loudly. She brings so much joy and fun to every room she walks into, and her sense of style and creativity is unmatched. In addition to being the hilarious, cheerful and smile-inducing person she is, Pepper is also one of the most caring and sweet friends I’ve had the pleasure of knowing. I love Pepper!”
“Pepper is fun to be around. I admire her thoughtfulness and her creativity. She is great housemate and friend! Who else could I sing obscure Backstreet Boys songs with or encourage to pick up free pile paintings in SOMA? I am really glad that I know Katelyn Pepper.”
“Ah, what to say about Pepper (or Peppa, as I have just now decided I like to call her)? She’s got a great goofy sense of humor. I think I met her at AnnaLise’s holiday party and we were giggling at inappropriate jokes within 5 minutes of getting introduced. Great smile, great sense of humor, and I hear she’s quite smart (which I believe, it’s just that we haven’t been in any intellectually-challenging situations together yet). She’s also a great organizer (i.e. wine tour) and quite patient (i.e. my wine tour check).”
“Pepper wins my award for zestiness. I can’t remember ever not being happy to see her. Ever. AnnaLise and I fight over which one of us gets to try to steal her from Chuck first. The winner will be decided by a Rubik’s Cube contest.”
Pepper is very colorful, cheerful, and caring. She is a great friend!
I appreciate Pepper for her flexibility. Who else can either climb into a clothes dryer, or catapult herself backwards over a table from a middle seat in a crowded booth in a bar, so as not to disturb the other patrons? I appreciate that Pepper helps me with my Mac confusion for $50 an hour off her usual rate. | “Pepper hat! | Me like hat!”
Pepper is all the wonderful things everyone else has said about her and more. She’s one of the only people I can trust to take care of my baby when I leave town – even though she risks having him “bite the hand that feeds him.”
“Pepper is great! She makes me feel welcome, and invites me to interesting things.”
“It’s hard to put the many great things about Pepper into words. She is incredibly smart, creative, and talented. Her personal style and free spirit are so inspiring. Her abundant laughs and happiness are contagious and addicting. She brightens everything and everyone around her!”
