Our Cottage on Mission Lake - Page Text Content

S: Cottage on Mission Lake

BC: Made especially for Bob Christmas 2011. Love, Bev

FC: Our Lakeside Cottage 2005

May 2005 This was our first glimpse of the property but we had a vision! | Lake View is there somewhere. Bob spent many hours clearing out all the bushes and opening up our fantastic view.

This was the view of our house from the lake. Note the different size windows and the various colors of paint on the siding. The room on the right was not finished on the inside. The porch on the left eventually became part of our new living room

An opportunity too good to pass up | Old trailer we dismantled | Bob didn't think there was a building here. | Surprise, there it is!

The view of our cottage from Mission Lake. All the shrubs were removed by Bob and the tree on left trimmed back. This was a major undertaking but yielded beautiful results.....A Fabulous View!

A house in great need of a little TLC. But the property and the views were beckoning to us. It also didn't hurt that there was plenty of space for Bob's car collection and a new museum.

Close ups of the lake side of the house. after we finally got Steven to leave. Somewhat of an improvement but still a long way to go!

The old trailer was unbelievable. Took 2 guys and several weeks to wade thru it all.

Views of our home from the middle of the lake.

The shop building before we began creating Bob's wonderful museum.

Den, Kitchen and Bathroom before we worked our magic. The kitchen cabinets are original when it was a fishing cabin When we replaced the windows we found newspapers dating back to 1946 used for insulation in the walls.

View of kitchen from living room. Notice blue tape marking where we enlarged the doorway.

Unfinished den/hobby room. The bathroom is starting to take shape.

Summer 2007 The garden is weeded and planted and our house is waiting for a new coat of paint.

Look, all the windows match and are in a straight line. New Siding Too!! | One of the first purchases was the hot tub. It came in very handy at the end of the day.

Work begins to enlarge the living room. The porch is now history.

2006 Start of the expansion project.

January 2009 The second flood but this time it didn't do much damage..

The television wall | Living room addition in progress. | Getting ready to remove the wall. | 2009

It's beginning to look like a comfortable living room.

The living room is almost complete.. This picture is before the fireplace surround was repainted.. | Looking from the living room out to the lake.. Our favorite view in the afternoon..

The morning sun shining in our new room. | We now have lots of room to entertain and relax.

In 2010 the den/hobby room was completed. We even have room for guests. And the kitchen, complete with all new appliances is just perfect too.

Bob's Museum..... A Work in Progress

Trophies, toys, cameras and souvenir mugs.

Summer time on Mission Lake . This is the reason we love it here.

The fully matured garden. | Springtime | Morning coffee in the sun | A welcoming entrance

 The End Result

After many hours of hard work and several setbacks along the way , we finally have our "Cottage at the Lake on the Top of the Mountain"
