3: I AM A GUATEMALAN-AMERICAN
6: The natives of Guatemala celebrate the Holy Week Procession for entire celebration of Lent. People from around the world come to see the streets be transformed into beautiful rugs made of flowers and wood shavings.
8: Antigua, Guatemala is not a place just for pictures, but a place to worship God | Each rugs take anywhere from 4 hours to 8 hours to make.
9: This rug extended 14 feet long and 6 feet wide. The colors and fresh smells of the wild flowers hugs and kissed all the people who passed by.
10: All things grow better with love.
11: What brings many different faces together in a nation that know love and faith. | Love does not cost a thing, yet we as people cannot stop to give it away. Guatemala has taught me to think with my heart and to also act with it!
12: After the rugs are made, the Procession walks on top of them, carrying the Saints. Both men and women, old and young carry in honor of Jesus. It becomes a promise of Faith for His suffering. | It's a beautiful day, don't let it get away.
14: Hours of work..gone in seconds..but it is all in the name of the LORD!!! a. The season of the year, occurring between winter and summer, during which the weather becomes warmer and plants revive, extending in the Northern Hemisphere from the vernal equinox to the summer solstice and popularly considered to comprise March, April, and May. b. A time of growth and renewal.
16: In the Central Park of the town of Antigua, Guatemala nearly 3000 people had gathered to see actors play out the Jesus nailed to his Cross. | Though I now follow the Christian Faith, the Catholic remains a huge part of my life, Amen to all who believe!
17: It's a beautiful day, don't let it get away.
18: My mother and I enjoying the calm of night in Antigua Guatemala. This is the person who has taught me to have faith when things were good and bad.
