FC: Tara Santarmes ART 1030 My mission statement is to explore collages and show how different shapes and value can change the outlook of the design.
The two pictures to the left are done from magazine clippings and are supposed to express how magazines make woman feel. | The picture in the far right shows Arcadia Revisited by John Matos. The medium is done with spray paint on canvas.
This piece I have done. It is a mosaic and it involves a lot of the same techniques as collaging does in order to accomplish the overall content.
This is also a piece I have done. It is a collage of a woman. The medium is different scrap pieces of paper.
The piece to the left uses value to establish shape within the piece. | The pictures on these pages are almost all done by Derek Gores. All of his compositions involve the woman figure as his form.
The piece to the right uses balance and symmetry to show a woman's face.
These are all collages done by Derek Gores. Using dark values of magazine clippings he makes the eye start to recognize the different pictures.
This piece is called Head 12 by Lucas Samaras. This would be considered representational.
The form of the pieces on this page are representing high figures in our society such as President Obama and Queen Victoria. They also show the use of texture. They could also represent relief sculptures.
This piece is a form of expressionistic art. They also show the relationship in art of ideology. This whole collage shows how this artist wants us to stop caring about what we and society are like and follow our own way.
