BC: By Kali H. & Avery W.

FC: Pandas and Amethyst | In the Power of Ten. | By Kali H. and Avery W.

Or living thing is the panda. We start with the little cub. He loves bamboo! He is getting closer. Now, our journey begins.

As we begin to get a close up on the cub we enter his digestive system. Ther's lots of bamboo in there! We can see his food and everything else

Inside the digestive system there is a very important organ, the stomach. (Shown Below)

As we move on from the stomach we can see the smooth muscle tissue of the stomach.

On the inside of the smooth muscle tissue there is many muscle cells.

The inside of the smooth muscle cell is fill with tiny, different, protein molecules.

We are now at our final destination. We are looking at the smallest of small. An atom. A carbon one to be exact It is inside the protien.Which is in the Smooth muscle cell. Which is in the stomach. Which by the way is still full of bamboo, and inside the digestive system. Which of course is inside our little panda bear cub in Shanghai.

Our Non-Living object is Amethyst, a common gem found in caves. It is the birthstone for February and is used often in jewlery. It is often found in huge rocks or geodes but not considered to be expensive.

Inside of this amethyst there is iron. it is a molecule inside of this purple gem.

Inside the iron there are aligned iron atoms inside iron. The molecules band together and form a beautiful stone

Similarities | * They are similar because they are made of matter. * Both take up space so you know that they are made of matter. * You can see/feel both of these objects.

Differences | * Amethyst is a gem, it does not live. * A panda has BAsic needs. like water, food, oxygen and shelter. * Pandas have to breathe oxygen to survive * Amethyst does not breathe.
