BC: you're ugly <3
Beauty is not in the face; beauty is a light in the heart.
"Though we travel all over the world to find the beauty we must carry it within us or we will not find it at all." In Thailand, the religion that practiced is Buddhism, those who do practice Buddhism there believe that real beauty comes from within . .. as others feel differently about it.
 Whitening Your Skin . ..
In Thailand, women like their skin to look as fair as possible. Being tan in Thailand classifies you to be within the lower class. If your skin is darker it shows that you work out in the fields all day in the sun while getting darker. All the many foundations in Thailand have extra whitening. They say that the lighter you are the better you feel. What they don't know is that the more cream the whiter you get, destroys your skin terribly.
Women wear rings around their necks to elongate them. Longer necks are beautiful. Children can get rings put on them at either five or six years old. To get rings put on your neck is your own choice. The rings are only for women, men never get them. They never take their rings off. These women are also known as "giraffe women."
 Perceptions of Beauty .
Delia Gatchalian- "Beauty is what you make of yourself. Your personality and your actions make up the beautiful person you are. You can have beautiful physical features, but with an ugly attitude and personality you become the ugliest person." Leilani Jaime- "I think cheerleaders are beautiful. Mama always told me that people who smile are beautiful and people who don't smile and look mad make themselves look ugly."
My perception of Beauty . ..
I always thought that many things could make you beautiful, not only your appearance but your personality could too. But I had my own thoughts of beauty, I didn't always think that EVERYONE was beautiful, but i mean that physical wise. I guess through this project the one thing i have learned is that everyones perception of beauty is different. Different things and aspects make certain people beautiful. What we do have to accept is that everyone is beautiful, whether it deals with their personality or their looks. What I may think is beautiful here, may not be allowed in other countries, with that being said it's important to open your eyes to different cultures and the way they do things because their perception of beauty is possible to be totally different. You cannot judge them solely because what they do is totally different from what we do, because in their eyes we may not be as beautiful to them as we think. We all need to be open and accept each others differences no matter where we're from or how we see things.
I am Melissa Gatchalian. I wonder what people think about me. I hear what people say about me, and I take it to heart. I see other people's beauty as their physical appearance. I am self-conscious. I pretend like I don't care what people say or think. I feel for other people who have no self confidence for themselves. I worry about not meeting other peoples physical expectations. I cry when someone hurts my feelings about my appearance. I understand that everyone has different perceptions of what beauty is. I dream to live up to my expectations as a beautiful person. I try my hardest to see myself as beautiful. I think everyones beautiful in their own day. | I am beautiful.
