21: Artist Statement: When I chose to take Digital Photography this year, I knew we were going to be taking pictures of different environments and set ups. Though, I did not really have any experience with taking professional photos; all I knew how to do was hold a camera, say "smile", and click a button to make the camera flash. All of my work is produced to show that any person can learn to take pictures and actually think about it. Also, in this collection of photos I wanted to display a wide variety of techniques I learned over the semester I was in Digital Photography. In this selection of work, I showed pictures that were taken with a Nikon DSRL camera; some of the photos were taken outside, some inside, some in the morning, some in broad daylight, and others that we digitally edited to be black and white. Another tool I used was Photoshop, I used this to tweak my photos to make them appear even better which is called retouching. Also in Photoshop, I was able to produce black and white photos while keeping the color of one object. Though throughout this project my entire process has been digital; I took my photos with a digital camera, then uploaded the photos to bridge and flickr, and then I retouched the photos in Photoshop.
