FC: Mall of America July, 2011
Our trip to Minnesota began around 6:00 a.m. Our first stop was supposed to be at Paul Bunyan's in Wisconsin Dells (about 4 hours away). However, after all the potty and puking breaks (Lorelei) we finally arrived at the Dells at about 11:00 a.m. We had a wonderful breakfast and were on our way again!
Matthew really enjoyed the tin cups!
Bellies are filled and we're on the road again. It was so nice of Paul to give us these "horns"!
S | So what was the first thing we did after checking into our room? Why, we headed to the Mall of America, of course!
The first thing we had to do was to go see Spongebob and Squidward. That's all Lorelei talked about before the trip.
The kids were so excited to see Patrick, too! Lorelei tells everyone how Patrick bopped her on the head.
Lorelei was so tired after meeting her friends that she could hardly eat her mac & cheese at the Cadillac Ranch.
Our room had bunk beds for Danny and Seth. For some reason, it was very exciting for everyone else to try climbing to the top bunk. I think we said, "GET DOWN!" a million times.
So, it's off to a 12:30 luncheon at the American Girl Store. The girls are all dressed up and have their dolls ready to dine with us.
It was really nice to have a private room. It gave the kids room to move around. As you can see, Lorelei took advantage of it.
We were given a room all to ourselves, which was very nice to have. The girls enjoyed ordering from the menu. They were even given tea cups and saucers for their dolls, along with a small pitcher of lemonade.
Bri enjoyed the experience, too; but I think she liked the dessert the best!
Lorelei enjoyed her "sgetti" and feeding her doll.
Matthew didn't seem to mind that he was the only boy. He played with his tractor and put goldfish in his cup to drink. He even enjoyed pushing the stroller.
So after our wonderful meal, we did what any group of women would do...we SHOPPED! Even Matthew found something he liked.
We met up with BJ, Seth and Danny. They were enjoying the amusement park while we were at American Girl. Then the girls went on a few rides too (until Erica started crying and they had to stop the ride to let her off)
After a funfilled day, it was back to the hotel for pizza and SWIMMIMNG!
The kids really had fun at the waterpark. It was amazing that a kid from the prairies of Illinois could just jump on a surfboard and start surfing his very first time.
We had so much fun the day before, so it was really hard to get out of the bed the next morning. | We finally reached the mall and when the kids spotted Blue, they just had to get their picture taken.
The first thing on our agenda was to visit Build-A-Bear Workshop. Choosing a bear and a voice was a big decision! | Note: You will not see Seth in any of these pictures because he was sitting on a bench outside the store with old people and bikers. (Seth's words, not mine.)
After everyone got their instructions, they each picked out a heart.
Matthew went first. He really liked to step on the foot pedal to make the stuffing fill the animal.
Lorelei was next. She picked out a Blizzard Bear from Dairy Queen that smelled like strawberries.
Danny picked out the coolest bear. He chose a biker jacket and a Harley Davidson motorcycle
Next came bath time and then came SHOPPING........... | ....and MORE shopping.......
 And even MORE SHOPPING!!!!!!!
Everyone registers their new friend and we're on our way again.
Bruiser Smurf, Jumpy Smurf and Lulu Smurf take a break after enjoying their time at Build-A-Bear Workshop.
Some of the Blizzard Bears came with a Dairy Queen coupon, so we all enjoyed some ice cream before heading off to enjoy the Scoops Kids Spa.
The girls enjoyed getting pampered at Scoops
Let the party begin! The girls get their tiaras and robes and then choose their fizzies.
