FC: Justin & Natalie Brumfield August 13, 2011

Best Man | Maid of Honor

I Natalie, take you, Justin, to be my partner in life, my one true love, to be my friend, my lover, the father of my children and my husband. I will cherish our union and love you more each day than I did the day before. I will trust you and respect you, laugh with you and cry with you, loving you faithfully through good times and bad, regardless of the obstacles we may face together. I give you my hand, my heart, and my love, from this day forward for all eternity.

I Justin, take you, Natalie, to be my partner in life, my one true love, to be my friend, my lover, the mother of my children and my wife. I will cherish our union and love you more each day than I did the day before. I will trust you and respect you, laugh with you and cry with you, loving you faithfully through good times and bad, regardless of the obstacles we may face together. I give you my hand, my heart, and my love, from this day forward for all eternity.

For thousands of years lovers have exchanged rings as a token of their vows. It is worn on the third finger, because of an ancient belief that a vein from that finger goes directly to the heart, thus connecting emotion to physical body. A circle is the symbol of the sun and the earth and the universe. In these rings it is the symbol of unity, in which your lives are now joined in one unbroken circle, in which, wherever you go, you will always return to one another and to your togetherness. May they remind you always of the vows you have taken today and of the promises that have been made.

Because this ring has no end or beginning, it signifies the continuation of true love. I give you this ring as a sign of my love for you and of our marriage. With my body and soul I will love, honor, and cherish you. All that I am and ever hope to be, I give to you. And all that I have I share with you In all times, In all places, And in all ways... forever.

Kissing comes by instinct, and yet, it is an art which few understand properly. A lover should not hold his bride by the ears in kissing her, as appears to have been customary at Scotch weddings of the last century. A more graceful way, and quite as effective in preventing the bride from 'getting away', is to put your right arm around her neck, your fingers under her chin, raise the chin, and then gently, but firmly press your lips on hers. After a few repetitions, she will find out it doesn't hurt and become gentle as a lamb.
