For Mom: From the workshop of Rachael and Mikaela "The angel of the family is Woman. Mother, wife, or sister, Woman is the caress of life, the soothing sweetness of affection shed over its toils, a reflection for the individual of the loving providence which watches over humanity. In her there is treasure enough of consoling tenderness to allay every pain. Moreover for every one of us she is the initiator of the future. The mother's first kiss teaches the child love; the first holy kiss of the woman he loves teaches man hope and faith in life; and love and faith create a desire for perfection and the power of reaching towards it step by step; create the future, in short, of which the living symbol is the child, the link between us and the generations to come. Through her the family, with its divine mystery of reproduction, points to eternity." Giuseppe Mazzini

He has achieved success who has lived well, laughed often and loved much; who has enjoyed the trust of pure women and the love of little children; who has filled his niche and accomplished his task; who has left the world better than he found it, whether by an improved poppy, a perfect poem, or a rescued soul; who has never lacked appreciation of earth's beauty or failed to express it; who has always looked for the best in others and given them the best he had; whose life was an inspiration; whose memory a benediction.
I'll like you for always | I'll love you forever
My baby you'll be | As long as I'm living...
Families are like fudge - mostly sweet with a few nuts. | You don't choose your family...
Ohana means family - no one gets left behind, and no one is ever forgotten | Family isn't an important thing - it's everything
The point is to make the other person as happy as we can, because their happiness adds to ours.
As I go through all kinds of feelings and experiences in my journey through life -- delight, surprise, chagrin, dismay -- I hold this question as a guiding light: "What do I really need right now to be happy?" What I come to over and over again is that only qualities as vast and deep as love, connection and kindness will really make me happy in any sort of enduring way.
Recipe for a Perfect Family You will need: 1 large house 3-6 people, depending on how long you want to wait for it to be done 3 cups of pets 2 cups of patience 3 ounces of anger/frustration 3 quarts of laughter 4 teaspoons of trust And last but definitely not least, Lots and lots of love First, open the house, and make sure that it will be the right size for your family. Mix the desired amount of people with the pets, carefully so you don’t damage them. In a separate bowl, stir the love and laughter together. Set aside. Taking each person separately, evenly distribute the patience and trust, making sure that each one gets an equal amount (Failure to distribute evenly may lead to different recipe! See recipe for “My impatient family” for details). Carefully open the bottle of anger/frustration. Using a Q-tip, dab small portions of the anger/frustration onto each person. Lastly, take the love and laughter and sprinkle it all over the house, pets, and people. Let sit until all parts of the recipe are thoroughly combined, and voila! Your Perfect Family is complete.
