FC: Doug and Jenn
Dear Birth Mother, Thank you for taking the time to learn more about us. We have tremendous respect for the adoption plan you are making, and hope that you will find peace in the decisions that you are making for you and your child. We are Doug and Jennifer, originally from southern California and now living in North Carolina. We are from two wonderful families, and have brought the strengths of each into our home to parent our two boys, Cameron and Tyson. We have been married for 8 years. From the time that we got married we have always wanted to have three children, and after our two boys, adoption was a way to make that happen for our family. Now that our boys are little older, they are so ready to be big brothers to a little sister, and we are ready for a little princess in our family. We look forward to sharing more about us in the pages that follow. May God bless you with comfort and peace as you make this very selfless act. With admiration, Doug and Jennifer
We live in a quaint North Carolina neighborhood where every house has a front porch. It gives the area a very warm and hospitable feeling which we love. The boys share a room and use the adjacent loft area to play and create their works of art which are proudly hung on every wall. The guest room is in the process of being converted to the baby room in expectation of our princess’ arrival, and Doug is coveting the day he gets to put the pink paint up on the walls. | OUR HOME and NEIGHBORHOOD
In addition to a pool and playground, within walking distance are a splash pad, movie theater, and complete retail center. Shops include a bookstore, where we take in story time every Saturday, and a coffee shop, where Jennifer takes the boys for special treats. She looks forward to taking your little girl for some girls-only coffee talk once both boys reach elementary school starting next year.
Beach in San Diego, CA | Wedding Day | THE HAPPY COUPLE We are Doug and Jennifer and we met in 2001 near the beaches of San Diego, CA in a chance encounter at a cross walk. We west coast natives quickly learned we had a lot in common, working for rival companies and sharing the same faith. Though we lived 90 miles apart, it only took a few short months of dating for us to agree we were meant to be. We married a year later, bought our first home, and appeared to be ready to settle down and start our lives together.
But before we reached our first anniversary, we got the itch to experience the other coast and relocated to North Carolina. Doug would find the same abundance of golf courses and Jenn the perfect place to raise a family, a journey we started in 2004. After a year of fertility concerns we started to think about adoption, but were quickly surprised to learn we were pregnant with our first son Cameron. Tyson followed a year later, and the adventure of parenting has been in full swing ever since. However, the itch for adoption has remained strong. We spend most of our family time helping the boys foster their love for both learning and play. Whether it is trips to various children's museums or coaching the t-ball team, we love to have fun together. | Washington DC
Beach in Santa Cruz | Christmas is our favorite holiday!!!! | Fun Times at the Lake
Camping in the Mountains of North Carolina | Feeding The Ducks!!! | Sea World
Doug was born in California and was raised with his brother, Greg, in a middle class family by parents who have spent their careers working in the local community, both of them modeling what it means to serve others. Doug grew up playing sports and was a Little League all-star, but found his true passion in golf. | As a teenager he competed in junior tournaments throughout Southern California and earned a scholarship to play in college. He works in retail marketing and is very involved in our local church where he serves as the ‘host’ of the elementary program on Sunday mornings. | He loves to coach the boys' sports teams like his dad did for him, one of the fondest memories of his childhood. Doug's natural sense of humor is his most unique characteristic. He loves to make people laugh, especially Cameron and Tyson. He wears his heart on his sleeve and can be very romantic. He can't wait to meet your little girl, who is sure to become "Daddy's Little Girl."
 Doug "Dad"
 Jenn "Mama"
Jenn was born in California and is the oldest of six. She loved having so many brothers and always knew she wanted a large family. Growing up she traveled all over. Before graduating high school she had been to Washington DC, Mexico, and Texas on various leadership trips with school. | After graduating high school Jenn moved to San Diego were she met Doug and knew immediately they would be married !!!! After moving to North Carolina Jenn couldn't wait to start a family. After having some infertility concerns they had Cam and Ty. | Currently Jenn works part time at their church. Her love of kids has helped her find a job she loves; helping kids learn how much God loves them. Jenn is very involved in the kids school and sports. Her passion in life is to help her children find their passion in life and enjoy every moment of it.
 Cameron - "Cam the Man"
Cameron was born in 2005. His name was selected in memory of Doug's brother who passed away suddenly 3 weeks before Cameron was born. Cameron literally learned to walk in a hospital waiting room, where he spent 16 days moving from chair to chair while we tended to Tyson in the NICU after his birth came 6 weeks early. | Cameron established himself early as a man in control who doesn't mind telling others what to do. He is very conscientious and enjoys learning new things in one of his many workbooks or with his educational video games. Cameron is a very loving and protective older brother to Tyson, and the two love playing all kinds of sports together and orchestrating very loud, obnoxious "music."
Tyson was born very shortly after Cameron in 2006. The exact opposite personality of his brother, Tyson is the jokester of the family and loves to take big risks whenever the opportunities present themselves – and has the bruises to prove it. Always loud and always having fun, Tyson can be spotted, and heard, from miles away. Oddly enough, he is also the cuddle bug of the family and loves to snuggle up with us on the couch. He can go from full speed to fully adorable in seconds, which is how he captures the hearts of everyone who meets him.
 Tyson "Ty guy"
Brothers who can't wait for a baby sister!!!
We sincerely appreciate the time you've taken to learn more about our family, and more importantly we greatly & humbly admire the difficult decision you've made to provide a different life for your baby. We would be honored to raise her in our home, and love her like she is our own. With two big brothers to protect her, and a father whose family genealogy has gone generations without a "daddy's little girl", we can assure you she will become the princess you dream of. Blessings to you as you make your decision - we know your heart will lead you to the right family. Gratefully Yours, Doug, Jennifer, Cameron & Tyson
