Soon almost by magic they are inside the wardrobe again. Returned to there young bodies having lived what seemed to be a full life.
Synopsis! Four children living in a house unfamiliar to them stubble along a wardrobe and when they run inside of it thinking of it as a hiding place they step into a whole new world. A world called Narnia that is completely different from what they are use to. Surprised and happy at first but they soon come to realize that this winter wonderland isn't so much a wonderland. They embark on a great adventure through Narnia trying to defeat the white witch and free the land of the never ending winter. With the help of friendly animals and Aslan they may just accomplish their goal.
Archetypes Hero(s)- There is not just one hero in the story Chronicles of Narnia but there is a Family of four. Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy are all said to be the next rulers of Narnia and to over through the evil white witch. Characteristics- They all have the typical attributes that hero's have like human flaws, sacrificing themselves, and facing death. Their flaws would be that they fight like brothers and sisters and Edmund falls for the White Witches nasty trick and turns in his siblings. They sacrifice when they fight for Narnia risking their lives when it is not their home or even a place that familiar to them. Facing death comes close more then once for all of them but because they are the heroes they come out victorious.
The Mentor- Aslan is the wisest of wise the greatest of great and everyone looks to him for guidence. Characteristics- In the way that every mentor does Aslan guides, gives the children information that is important, teaches, protects, gives inspiration and aids them in their journey. He guides them to releasing the hero that is inside them all. Being almost Narnia's god he knows everything will be alright and he seems to know all the secrets of dark magic and how to overcome the white witches evil spell. He teaches him that love, loyalty, hope and family are what they need to win the war (ultiminately a life lesson). He also shows signs of a hero also because he sacrifices his own life for Edmunds life. Overall the heroes look up to him.
Edmund up front is faced with the choice between his siblings and what he thinks he wants. He makes the wrong decision and people suffer from it. But eventually the love for his family whips him into shape and he helps defeat the white witch who deceived him. | There comes a point in the story where they must go on without their beloved leader Aslan. He sacrifices himself so that Edmund may live. For Peter to lead the army by himself is the greatest challenged he has ever faced. | Threshold Guardian
Shapeshifter! | In the end Edmund becomes one of the heroes but that is only because of his siblings. In the beginning he turns in the people who have helped his family and upfront picks the white witches side. Because of this it leads the animals in Narnia to doubt his loyalty and his own siblings doubt it too.
Shadow! The white witch is at the top of evil. She took control or Narnia and made in into a endless winter. Because of a prophecy saying that two sons of Adam and two daughters of Eve would over throw her, when she saw Edmund she acted like a sweet and innocent queen to fool him. Soon enough though her true colors came out and everyone knew including Edmund that she is evil.
