FC: The Pearl by John Steinbeck

2: John Steinbeck was born in 1902, in California. In 1919 he went to Stanford University. He left in 1925 without a degree. After he became married he moved to Pacific Grove. Two of his books became published. He experimented with many different things throughout his life. He wrote many books. John Steinbeck won a Nobel Prize in 1962 and died in 1968.
3: Kino and his people were very poor. They lived in brush houses. | The doctor lived more in a higher society. He had a nice house.
4: This is Kino. His wife is Juana and his son is Coyotito.
5: This is Juana. Kino is her husband and her son is Coyotito.
6: This is Coyotito. He is Kino and Juana's son.
7: These are the beggars that stood outside the city begging for money
8: Chapter One Kino and Juana woke up one morning, and everything was fine until they saw a scorpion on Coyotito's hanging box.The scorpion stung Coyotito. Kino and Juana took the baby to the city to see the doctor. The doctor was selfish and wouldn't see them.
9: Chapter Two Kino and Juana went to the beach look for a pearl to pay the doctor. Kino found the pearl of the world.
10: Chapter Three Everybody in the town heard about Kino's pearl. Everybody became jealous of Kino and his family. Kino dreamed about his family's new fortune. The doctor came to Kino's hut and asked to see the baby. The doctor tricked them by making the baby sick again, and then he helped the baby recover. He only did this because he knew Kino had the pearl. They woke up and began a new day with hope
11: Chapter Four KIno traveled to the city of La Paz to sell his pearl. Everyone knew this is what Kino was going to do that day. The pearl buyers told him his pearl was too large. They tried to get more money for themselves by telling him they would only go up to 1,000 pesos. KIno was attacked that night in the darkness. Somebody was trying to steal the pearl.
12: Chapter Five Juana woke up and tried to throw the pearl back into the sea. KIno chased her down and struck her in the face. He took the pearl from her. Kino was attacked and killed the man. KIno boat was smashed and his hut burned down. Kino and his family hid at Juan Thomas's hut.
13: Chapter Six Kino took his family away from their small town. They traveled to the mountains. Trackers were trying to track them down. They had guns. KIno and his family hid in a cave in the mountains when the trackers got close. KIno went to attack them when the trackers heard Coyotito cry. They shot in the the direction of the cave and killed Coyotito. KIno killed all the trackers. KIno and Juana returned to their city. They went to the beach and threw the pearl back into the sea where it belonged.
14: The moral of this story is that things may not always be as they seem.
