BC: From the Makers of the Challis-Barlamas Corporation
FC: Human Bone of the USA! | By: Alexis Challis and Costa Barlamas
Dedicated to Mrs. Burger. A great teacher and friend.
Let's tour the Human Bone of the United States of America. I'm sure a lot of you know bones grow, but do you know how or why they grow?
This tour will teach you it all, from how your bones grow to how they remodel.
On the first stop of the bone we will visit the east coast. This area is more commonly known as the epiphysis, in other words the short end of the bone.
As we get towards the end of the epiphysis we are going to travel through the epiphyseal line stopping at the growth plate garden.
*FUN FACT: Your garden growth plate will close between 15 and 25 years of age.
If you're confused on what the garden is made of; this may help. The growth plate garden has four sections.
The zone of resting cartilage is at the top of the Growth Plate Garden.
This zone contains some chondrocyte seeds. These seeds grow and fill up space in the soil.
These seeds start to grow and form cartilage tomato plant stems. Since they are going out of the zone of resting cartilage, they end up in the zone of proliferation.
The cartilage tomato plant stems start to grow towards the bottom of the Growth Plate Garden. As the stem grows it starts to produce tomato bone cells. These tomato bone cells start to become big in the new zone of hypertrophy.
As these tomato bones get big they start to die and fall off of the stems. This is now called the zone of calcification.
In this zone, the osteoblast workers come in to the garden and lay bone matrix soil over the dead tomato bone cells.
Now, we're in the town of Denver, Diaphysis. | Denver, Diaphysis is the long area of the bone.
Kids, Have you ever wondered what makes your bones so strong?
Well... traveling to Portland, Periosteum will surely help!
Portland, Periosteum is a tiny city trying to make itself bigger. Portland is always changing underneath the city. Underground subways are being built for blood tunnels.
The osteoblast workers that lay the bone matrix over the dead tomato bone cells in the growth plate garden are everywhere in Portland, Periosteum.
The osteoblast workers try to make Portland, Periosteum bigger by continuously laying steel bone matrix over and over again on top of the blood tunnels.
Now we're off to Raleigh Remodeling Factory. Richmond is already a big town and is fighting to maintain its area.
When bone buildings get old, they get replaced by the osteoblast workers building newer bone buildings
In Raleigh, there are also osteoclast workers. These osteoclast workers find the potholes in Raleigh and dig them out. They do this in order to make the pothole big enough to make it easier for the osteoblast workers to fill.
After the osteoblast workers fill the pothole, osteocyte workers will watch the pothole to make sure it does not open up again. If these three types of workers did not work together, than Raleigh would not be the big town that it is today.
Just like the United States has different things that make it run as a nation, so does your bones. | The END!
