1: CHINA | Itinerary BEIJING XI'AN GUILIN HONG KONG SHANGHAI GUANGDONG

3: The GREAT WALL of CHINA is over 8,851 km long. Construction of the wall began in the 7th century BC; we took the easy way up......... the cable car. The views were amazing!

4: Front: Ashley & Louise (England) Back: Me, Adrienne (Canada), Sara (England), Laura (Scotland), Ellen & Linda (Germany), and Leslie (Canada).

7: After climbing and climbing, we took the toboggan down!

11: In the evening we went to see THE LEGEND OF KUNG FU. The place was packed.

13: We took the overnight train from BEIJING to XI'AN. Our first stop was the TERRACOTTA WARRIORS.

16: We went to a tea ceremony in a beautiful old home in XI'AN.

19: The ANCIENT CITY WALL of XI'AN

20: Bike riding on the ANCIENT CITY WALL.

21: The next stop was the BIG WILD GOOSE PAGADO in XI'AN. I know; crazy name!

23: We made some new friends at the top of the temple! Oh ya, did I mention that the lady in the red sweater overtook us in the stairway!

24: Incredibly beautiful!

25: The MUSLIM QUARTERS XI'AN

26: We took a plane from XI'AN to GUILAN and stayed in the village of YANGSHOU. My hotel room & view.

27: Yikes, I think I saw it move!!!! | The streets of YANGSHOU

29: We took a cooking class in YANGSHOU. Everything at the market was extremely fresh!

31: We all turned out to be quick studies. The food was delicious!

34: In YANGSHOU we went on a bike ride through the countryside. Farmer Tam lead the way!

37: After our hike to the top of MOON HILL; we rode our bikes to Farmer Tam's house for lunch.

38: We took a break from cycling and went for a raft ride. Very relaxing.

39: A little boutique that only sells matches!

49: The BIG BUDDHA was one of my favorite spots. The air was filled with incense and the beauty of the Buddha was surprisingly overwhelming.

53: The streets of HONG KONG are filled with the world's most expensive stores!

54: Next stop, SHANGHAI

56: JIN MAO TOWER's 88 floors makes it the tallest building in SHANGHAI's financial district.

57: SHANGHAI has had tremendous growth over the past 10 years. It's a world class metropolitan city!

62: The train travels 30 km from the MAGLEV station to the PUDONG Airport in 8 minutes; reaching a maximum speed of 430 km per hour.
