S: The 1960s

BC: The hippie movement started in the 1960s. They wore bright colors and protested the Vietnam War.

1: The Soviet Union were building nuclear missiles on Cuba. They were aiming them toward the US. Thanks to the bravery of two men a nuclear war was averted, those two men were John F. Kennedy and Premier Nikita Khrushchev. The Cuban Missile crisis was the closest the world had come to a war. Picture from worldhistory.com

2: John F. Kennedy was the president from 1961 to 1963 when he was assassinated. Picture from navsource.org

3: Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin were the first men to ever walk on the moon. They accomplished this great feat on July 20, 1969. picture from historyplace.com

4: In 1967 it was the first super bowl know then as the AFL-NFL world championship. It was a game between the Green Bay Packers vs. Kansas City Chiefs. The Packers won 35-10. Picture from pdxretro.com
