FC: All Aboard the Disney Dream | July 2011
Summer Vacation July 2011 Disney Dream Sailed out of Port Canaveral, Florida Ports: Castaway Cay and Nassau
All aboard! Mickey was everywhere to greet us as we set sail on the Disney Dream. Our adventure took place July 19-24, 2011. | A beautiful replica of the Disney Dream in the boarding terminal.
Boarding the ship. Gram, Pa and Campbell boarded before us so we missed the boarding photo with them.
This is the grand lobby of the ship.
The Sailing Away party on Deck 11 with all the characters dancing and singing. It definitely got us excited for a great cruise.
 Lots of sleeping options!
The Aquaduck was the hit of the ship. It made its way all the way around the top of the ship. It was very cool to fly above the top deck.
Fun towel animals waited for us each night. We even took a class to learn how to make them ourselves!
Pirates were on full display one night for dinner. Our costumes were limited to the bandanas Disney provided. But we looked pretty good anyway!
The evening ended with a Pirate bash on Deck 11. A great fireworks show lit up the night over top of the ship.
Disney's Private Island - Castaway Cay
No detail was left undone. The star of the show - Mickey Mouse - hangs from the front of the ship! | Gram and Pa enjoying the island
We did the Stringray Adventure on Castaway Cay. The rays are in a contained area and very well trained. They know food is coming and swim all around you waiting to be fed. After we fed them, we snorkeled around them and watched as they buried themselves in the sand to wait for the next meal!
Fun family times aboard the ship!
We celebrated Michael's 45th birtday on the cruise - and yes, the wait staff sang to him. It was his favorite part!
Michael, Carly and I took an animation class during our day at sea. Here are the results of our Mickey drawing lessons! | Michael | Carly | Lisa
This was our formal dinner night in the Enchanted Garden dining room. Dinner was always wonderful family time.
We loved our wait staff. Solenne from France and Depesh from South Africa. The service they provided was first class. | Every night they had a new magic trick for us. This night, Depesh magically balanced two dinner forks on the tip of a toothpick stuck into a wine cork. Pretty cool!
