FC: The effects of the slave trade on the country of African villages
1: Before we begin, we need to establish that slavery was just wrong, at least the way the West did it.
2: In African society, the only reason you were a slave was because you lost the war or you committed a vile crime such as kidnapping or adultery; and even then the slaves were treated as part of the family, not as property.
3: On the other side of the coin (or the world), the Americans used racism to legalize treating the slaves as property, tying them up like dogs in the picture above.
4: The worst problem with the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade was that traders would come and just take people to become slave. they would take the youngest and fittest people, leaving the weak and ill to die, since they could no longer take care of themselves.
5: Sadly this also sent neighboring African tribe to war against each other to take slave and trade them to the traders for only textiles, guns, etc.
