S: Austin Whitaker - 41st International Master Councilor

FC: Austin Whitaker 41st International Master Councilor 2007-2008 DeMolay International

1: Austin Whitaker was initiated into Murfreesboro Chapter in Murfreesboro, Tennessee in July 2000. He is also a dual member of C.E. Hendricks Chapter in Hendersonville, TN. Currently, Austin Serves C.E. Hendricks Chapter as the Chapter Treasurer. Austin is the recipient of the Blue Honor Key with a bronze star, Chevalier, Representative DeMolay, Lamp of Knowledge, and the Past Master Councilor – Meritorious Service Award. In May 2006, Austin graduated from Hume-Fogg Academic Magnet High School with a 4.0 GPA. During his high school career, Austin played percussion in the school orchestra and Wind Ensemble. During his senior year, Austin Interned at the Country Music Hall of Fame. As part of the Museum's Education department, Austin worked one-on-one with students, teachers, and even Country Music Stars. Austin was also very active on the school Mock Trial team acting as a witness and prosecuting attorney. The team won two city championships. Along with his team, Austin won the Tennessee State Mock Trial Competition and competed in the National Competition in 2005. He was awarded the Best Defense Witness award at the National Competition. Austin is a Sophomore at the University of Tennessee Knoxville where he is a Chancellor's Honor Student. He is a Psychology Major with a Pre-Med Concentration. His career goals include Medical School and practicing as a Pediatrician. Austin currently is a Volunteer with the Red Cross through the ClinicVols Program at UT. He volunteers weekly at an Inner-city Elementary school in the School Clinic. Austin served Tennessee DeMolay as a State Officer over the past several years, being elected as State Junior Councilor in 2003 and advancing through the State line. In July of 2006, Austin was elected to serve Tennessee DeMolay as State Master Councilor. During his term as State Master Councilor, Austin organized a year-long fundraising campaign for the Shriner's Hospitals earning him the Community Philanthropist of the year award for DeMolay International in June 2007. Austin began his service to DeMolay International by serving two terms as Region 3 Coordinator. Also, during his tenure as a Congress Delegate, Austin was appointed to serve as the Chairman of two International Congress Committees. Austin is a Master Mason at Hendersonville Lodge #359. He is also a member Hendersonville Eastern Star, and Love Court Order of Amaranth. Austin is also an active member of Al Menah Shrine where he belongs to the 'Boro Prowlers go-cart unit. In addition to his leadership in DeMolay, Austin is also serving as the Worshipful Grand Historian of the Grand Lodge of Tennessee, F&AM. Austin's appointment to this position makes him the youngest Grand Lodge officer in the 194 year history of the Grand Lodge of Tennessee.
