1: This project covers: Geography & Climate People of Indonesia Government

2: Geography | The geography of Indonesia is unusual. It is made up of over 13,500 islands. Those islands strech across 3,200 miles across the Indian Ocean. And 6,000 of the islands are inhabited. The capital of the country of Indonesia is Jakarta which is located in Java which is the country's largest city. Most people that live in Indonesia live on the islands of Java or Bali. | Climate | Indonesia has a tropical climate which makes sense since Indonesia is made up of thousands of islands. Tropical climate temperatures usually average between 70-85 degrees Fahrenheit. Good weather for going swimming on the beaches. | Map of Indonesia is on the next page.

4: People of Indonesia | Indonesia has many people of many different ethnic groups, languages and religions. The most dominant ethnic group is that of the Javanese. There are about 300 other ethnic groups. The most spoken language is Indonesian but there are 200 other languages and dialects spoken. Now for religion, there are close to 90% of Indonesia that are Muslim. Indonesia is know for having one of the biggest Muslim communities in the world!

5: Government | The form of government of Indonesia has a presidential representative democratic republic. The president is the head of the country. They also have a multi-party system. The government takes care of Executive power while the government and the two People's Representative Councils takes care of Legislative power. And the judiciary is independent of the executive and the legislature. The current president of Indonesia is Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. His Vice president is Boediono.
