When I Went To The Blacksmith Shop By Jacob Monson-2 When I got in the Blacksmith shop I saw an air pump, fire pit, bucket of water to cool off the hot metal, and somebody that was pounding the hot metal. It also tasted and smelt smokey and weird. It felt really dirty all over and hot. I hear pounding and and air pump that helps the fire. That is when I went to the Blacksmith shop. I thought it was really cool.

My trip to Des Moines By Jacob Monson Have you ever gone to Des Moines? I have, and I am going to tell you about my trip to Des Moines. The night before we had to charge some stuff for the trip. On the way to Des Moines I played with my ipod touch and watch movies and at the same time watch my brother sleep. When we got to Des Moines we went to incredible pizza. We played a lot of games, but my favorite one of all is racing real go karts. We had to check in at the hotel, and after that we played in a pool from about 5:00 to about 8:00.There was an indoor restaurant at the hotel also and we had supper and breakfast there. It was a lot of fun. That is all I have to tell you about my trip to Des Moines. Bye.

The Cooks The cook that I watched was my grandma which that is why I picked the cooks. I watched her cut cakes, baked, cooked, and served lunch. All this person said is hello. There was one thing that made her laugh which was her friends. Some of the tools they use are knives to cut the cake, spoodles that help them serve lunch, and carts to carry the food. I also saw trays for lunch, sinks to clean the trays. This person works in the kitchen. That is all I have to describe about this person.

Mario Superstar Baseball By Jacob Monson Hey want to hear about a game. This game is called Mario Superstar Baseball for the gamecube. In this game you play mini games or baseball. If you are new you should play practice games. Some of those games are fielding practice, batting practice, and pitching practice. Some of the players are Wario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Donky Kong, Mario, Daisy, Bowser, Waluigi, Diddy Kong, Birdo, Bowser Jr. and more. The game costs around 10 dollars when I bought it. Mainly when you bat you hold the A button and when you want to swing you let go of A. To use your star skills like mario’s fireball you hold R down and bat. Same thing with pitching, and while you are just about to bat press Y to steal. If you are running press Y to run another base instead of staying at first. This game goes on in Mario, Wario, Peach, Donky Kong, and Bowser Stadium. There is a game Super Mario Baseball so family and friends can play together. This game came out on August 29th 2005. Hopefully you can play it. I think it is a lot of fun.

The weather for today is a low of 34 degrees, and a high of 45 degrees with a chance of rain. The lunch for today is hot dog with bun, mashed potatoes, peas, pineapple, condiments, milk, turkey stacker, lettuce, tomatoes, mayo, fresh veggies with ranch dip. That sounds delicious.

Do you wonder what people are doing in math right now?In kindergarten, kids are learning addition. In first grade, they are learning to add and subtract. In second grade, they are learning to subtract. In fourth grade, they are learning about line plots. That is what kids at Clear Creek Elementary are doing in Math this November.

Hey kids! Do you want to know more about the giving tree? She said that the giving tree is a tree with ornaments for donations. The giving tree is going on to help others. The due date has already passed, it was Nov. 9. If you want to donate, your parents got a sheet at conferences to sign up. Your family can help by taking an ornament off a tree to give anonymous donations. Hopefully you can sign up and donate to others for a good cause.

Moustache Mayhem By: Noah, Amber, Raegan, Jacob M. “Kids should be able to go to school whenever they want!” said jimmy. I'm tired of having to rush through all of these shortcuts! “Just yesterday we were caught in storybook island.” Said Chloe. “We can’t be late again.” Said Chloe Mr. Moustache said if we’re late again he would be having a talk with our parents. “oh its fine, you worry too much.” said Jimmy “Let’s try a new shortcut today”’ said Jimmy “I don’t know if that’s such a good idea’’ said Chloe, we can’t be late again. “oh it’s fine.” Said Jimmy “ok if you say so Jimmy.” Said Chloe They went out of their house and started down the trail. As the two kids landed on the giant wasp, they noticed a body hanging from it and Jimmy pointed out that it was his grandma. “Where is the wasp even taking us?” asked Jimmy “I don’t know but we can jump off at this zipline ahead.” said Chole When they jumped onto the zipline the saw the school. They were almost there! When an indian girl with long hair cut the rope. As they were falling they were too busy screaming their heads off when they noticed a steel boat and fell right into it. As they fell into the boat they saw that the boat was heading for a trampoline. When it got there they bounced onto the trampoline and into their seats. As the teacher entered the classroom she asked them what they were doing? The kids answered and said that they got to school early for once. Then their teacher said that it was Saturday. “Wow” said Jimmy, we went to school for no reason. So they walked home the right way and went to bed.

When they turned down 1st Avenue, they were suddenly attacked by spider monkeys, and one of the spider monkeys had a mustache. ”Ahhh!” yelled the two kids. “We have to find a way out of here!”said Chloe So they hid behind a bush until the spider monkeys left. Then they ran to hide in a big cave. When they were in the big cave, they heard a cracking sound. They knew that it wasn’t long before the ground broke through so they ran to get out of the cave. When they were halfway out they stepped on some unsteady ground, then the ground rumbled, and broke through. Chloe, and Jimmy screamed as they landed on a man eating wasp. As the two kids landed on the giant wasp, they noticed a body hanging from it and Jimmy pointed out that it was his grandma. “Where is the wasp even taking us?” asked Jimmy “I don’t know but we can jump off at this zipline ahead.” said Chole

January 30, 2013 Clear Creek Elementary School 901 S. 14th St. Clear Lake, IA 50428 Mr. Justin Smith Promotions Coordinator Bankers Trust ABC5 One classroom at a time education Grant3 903 Western Parkway West Des Moines, IA 50266 Dear Mr. Justin Smith Education coordinator: I am sending you this letter for the money because, we are starting a restaurant in math class. We are starting a restaurant to have experience of what it is like to work in a restaurant. The restaurant will help us learn to do math better and help us understand math better. One of the things we have done was we split up into groups to get work done faster then the whole grade together. It was also kind of cool because we were interviewed and made a business letter to see what job we would get. Then we took the time to look up all of the prices for the food. The time we are doing this is in may or the last day of school. Two of our goals are to have good food and hope that people like. Maybe you could come to the restaurant when it is open. The reason I am sending you this letter is to start our restaurant. Thank you for taking your time to read this. Sincerely, Jacob Monson

Greg Jenning decision to leave the packers By. Jacob Monson Hey! Do you know the NFL team Green Bay Packers? Do you know the best wide receiver Greg Jennings? Well he is leaving the packers to go to the NFL team Minnesota Vikings, because the vikings wanted Greg Jenning more. The Vikings made him feel wanted. I was looking for a change, “I am still young, and I still have a lot more opportunities in life”. Said Greg Jennings. If you are packer fans I think the packers won’t do as well as they did with Greg Jennings.

There is a really fun and popular game called Sonic the Hedgehog, if you haven’t heard of it I am going to tell you some stuff about this game. Sonic the hedgehog is a game that you have to save a princess from Dr. Eggman. The controls are simple because in the game it will tell you. It takes place in the city of Soleanna. It was created in 1991. Some of the main characters are Dr. Eggman, Sonic, Knuckles, Silver, Tails and Shadow. It was made for people to have fun. That is all I have to tell you about Sonic the hedgehog. I hope you play this game someday.

Fifth Grade Memories By: Jacob Monson One day in science and social studies Mr. weigmann wanted to tell us a true story about what happened. So one day Mr. Wiegmann was preheating an oven for pizza, and the oven started on fire because there were Lucky Charms in the oven because there was no room for them to put the lucky charms. So he opened the oven and the fire came spooling out of the oven. After that he throws a cup on the fire. (Not supposed to) Then the fire grows even more. Then he shuts the oven and after a while the fire stops of loss of oxygen, and I thought Lucky Charms were supposed to be lucky. Then another day he shows us not what to do by doing what we’re not supposed to do by doing anyway and spills water all over the floor carelessly and makes everybody laugh. Sometimes Mr. Wiegmann acts really weird and makes everybody laugh. The main reason Science and Social Studies are my favorite periods is because Mr. Wiegmann makes learning fun and he is the best teacher I have ever had in all the school years.

Million Dollar Essay By: Jacob Monson Oh my gosh! I found a million dollars in a suitcase under the couch, from the billionaires that lived here before. What should I do with it? I have some ideas of what we can do with it. I could have fun, start a business or even donate to charity. I could start a pinewood derby car race track. A pinewood derby car is a wood car you can add weight, cut, design, and whatever you want. I would start this because I have a car, and it is a lot of fun to race, and see the other cars people have created. I would need to design a track, buy wood and supplies, and build it. I would build it whenever I had all the supplies I needed. I would start this in a separate room from my indoor racetrack. People with go-karts, ATVs, dirt bikes, and any type of race car. There could be up to 1,000 people watching and as many as I wanted racing. Like the pinewood derby car racing, it is a lot of fun. That reminds me I love to bake so I would start a bakery. I know a lot of people like pie, cake, bread, cupcakes, cinnamon rolls, and other things that are at a bakery. I would try to get a new building for a bakery, but if I have to I will have a bakery on the other side of the racetrack. I would call the bakery Sweet Desserts. I would donate some of the money from the bakery to the animal shelter to feed animals and give them toys. I am doing this because I feel bad for the homeless puppies. I would donate 1,000 dollars even before my bakery is started. If you would want to help you could come work at my bakery, so I can donate more money to the shelter. Wouldn’t you like to find a million dollars under your couch in a suitcase? Maybe if you checked, you might just find a million dollars. You never know. Also think about what you could do with it for fun, to start a business, or donate to a charirity or a good cause.

Tornado Poem You here the sound of sirens and really fast winds. A storm is tearing away your house apart while you are hiding. You come out and there is nothing left but remains of houses and cars. | Tornadoes By: Jacob Monson Have you ever seen a tornado before? Tornadoes could be big and small. Did you know there are about 1,000 tornadoes a year! That’s a lot of tornadoes. Tornadoes can destroy everything in it’s path, it can throw houses in the air. That seems scary.I am going to tell you about causes of tornadoes, sizes of tornadoes, and where tornadoes happen and what they do. Did you know that a tornado is caused by cold air being trapped above the warm air. The cold air tries to escape which creates a thundercloud. After a thundercloud the air starts to spin which the spinning air is the tornado. Now you know what can cause a tornado. e speed of a tornado is really slow and they only last for about thirty mn. but they still do a lot of damage. That is all I have for size and speed of tornadoes. That is all I have to tell you about tornadoes. There is no more information I can tell you that I can get right now. So this paper is now over. Remember if you hear tornado sirens go off get to a safe place.

If you never knew there are states that are in something called tornado playground. The states in tornado playground are Colorado, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota, Oklahoma, Texas, and Wyoming. Tornadoes usually happen in the time period of April, May, and June. A tornado is something that destroys everything in it’s path. Tornadoes must do a lot of damage if it destroys everything in it’s path. Do you know the size and speed of tornadoes? If you don’t know know the size and speed of tornadoes I will tell you in this paragraph. Tornadoes can be big and small. It matters how big the storm is to what size the tornado is or how much cold or hot air that there is that causes a tornado. If you are in a mountain area it will be smaller than most tornadoes. The speed of a tornado is really slow and they only last for about thirty mn. but they still do a lot of damage. That is all I have for size and speed of tornadoes. That is all I have to tell you about tornadoes. There is no more information I can tell you that I can get right now. So this paper is now over.
