S: Lindsey York

FC: Lindsey York Class 2011

 Lindsey York 2011

Growing up in the barn, I quickly learned new skills, like how to feed, care, exercise and show. The biggest lessons came getting past being a shy geek that would rather read than meet someone new. As my skills grew so did my self-confidence.

4-H has given me a lifetime of friends, many with roots to my parents' 4-H friends.

The Shy Girl enters a pageant and hauls hard for Top Ten in Texas. | Life Lesson Learned: Even if it is hard, don't give up. It can cost you!

Haul Hard or Go Home 30 Shows in one year! Major life lessons learned

4-H... Learning by doing Method Demonstrations, Livestock Judging and Volunteering

My mentors taught me much.... I learned from some of the best....

Skills learned on the farm prepared me to be self supporting. | Plumbing, fence work, training run dogs and hauling hay are all part of a day at the farm. But what doesn't break us, can make us!

First Grand Champion Lamb With a Rainey Club Lamb

3 Grand Champions 3 Generations Mom, Daughter & Granddaughter

It's all in the Genetics The herd of Winners were all sons and daughters of 29, Surprise Surprise My Favorite Buck!

Serving on the JABGA board for seven years was extremely rewarding. Helping set national policies, junior leadership development and marketing of boer goats were all extensions of my 4-H experience.

World History Day-State Finalist 2010 Volunteering with Elementary Choir Acapella Choir-Alto Section Leader Volunteering at Stajduhar Stables for mental/physical disabled

Lamar's First International Baccalaureate Class where work ethic wasn't an option. Junior American Statesman in Austin where I knew politics was for me!

But the biggest win was watching my girls show at Fort Worth and seeing them get pulled. Passing the 4-H torch to another, making the best better.

Senior Year 2011 Tarrant County Grand Champion Lamb and Reserve Champion Lamb Champion Senior Showman

Pretty good for 3 culls from the Rainey Lamb barn! All 3 Champions! 25 mile drive to feed through Fort Worth traffic, just became worth it!

Houston Stock Show One Last Time 2011 | Even Big Girls Need a Bawl Baby. Saying good bye to the last lamb was so incredibly Hard!
