1: In New England, March sisters grow and share their happy times, troubles, loves, and secrets. The four girls are yet nothing alike. Meg is the oldest, she likes writing. Jo's the one that keeps a smile on everybody's face. Beth is shy. Amy is pretty and likes art. 2: Vocabulary | 1) contradicted (pg.6)- to express the opposite side or idea; inconsistent. Her paper directly contradicted what was said earlier that year. 2) inquiries (pg.10)- request or question for information. A very close examination. Some people in the town thought public inquiries were unacceptable. 3) demeanor (pg.33)- A person's conduct toward others; a person's general behavior. Raven gets along better with Aisha, who has a calm demeanor. 4) abashed (pg.63)- to embarrass; to make ashamed or uneasy. I am a little abashed before every softball game. 5) indolent (pg.67)- lazy; disinclined to exert oneself. Indolent people don't get far in life. 6) satirical (pg.76)- of, like, or pertaining to satire. She writes wonderful satirical poems and books.
3: 7) blithe (pg.107)- carefree; casual. Blithe attitudes in softball may sometimes affect how others play. 8) epitaph (pg.132)- inscription, as on a tomb or gravestone. Usually deceased ones gravestone epitaphs say, 'In memory of'. 9) omnibus (pg.170)- a large motor vehicle for passengers; bus. Years ago, a few people only have a omnibus for transportation. 10) panacea (pg.182)- A remedy for all diseases or ills. Prozac is an example of panacea that over 10 million people have taken. 11) obstinacy (pg.246)- difficult to control; hardheaded. The children at the daycare were obstinacy and wouldn't listen. 12) excursions (pg.278)- short trip. My family usually goes on a excursion during spring break. 13) aristocratic (pg.332)- of the upper class. Rich people are sometimes aristocratic. 14) connoisseur (pg.369)- person who has expert knowledge. Not many people that attend Childersburg high are connoisseur. 15) disquietude (pg.369)- disturbed or uneasy condition. A room with a bunch of noise usually puts me in disquietude.
5: In both the show and movie the girls share secrets and troubled times. They all have a lot going on in their lives. There are situations in the show pertaining to the book like one of the girls die, one of the girls don't have a lot of money, and they suffer. | Pretty Little Liars
