I dedicate this scrapbook to my friends and family that have shared the memories I have had that are in this book
Exposition: I was born at the Harrisburg Hospital on July 25th, 1998, about a minute before my twin sister, Madelyn.. I was 4 pounds 11 ounces, while Madelyn was a whole pound and an ounce more than me., weighing 5 pounds 12 ounces. I don't think my parents would have guessed when we were born all of the experiences Madelyn and I would share in our lives. She is a big part of who I am today, and our journey as lifelong friends started when we were born.
Setting: I grew up at 838 Anthony Dr., Mechanicsburg, PA, until I was 9 years old.. I moved to Camp Hill, PA, leaving behind a childhood full of memories, but creating new ones in my new home. I will never forget dancing in the rain at Mr. Joe's house, the pool parties with Amanda and Vanessa, or playing with my dog, Abbey.
Irony: I am the kind of person that treasures my time alone. I love to go home after school and just sit in my room my myself and listen to music. I am in no stretch of imagination anti- social, but I hardly get any time alone, so, when I have the chance, I take it. The reason I like to be alone is because my sister will not leave me alone and is always with me.
I find it ironic that I am always with her yet I can't stand it. This summer gave me a taste of what it was like to be away from her; we spent our first 24 hours away from each other while I was at camp. I was the first time I got to be by myself and get to be independant. It is ironic that two sisters that are always together love to be alone and don't like spending time together.
Foreshadowing: The minute I was born a pound and an ounce smaller than Madelyn foreshadowed the constant competitiveness that we have between us. Everything we do is a competition, whether it is with who gets the higher grade in a class, or who gets the starting spot in a basketball or soccer game. I can honestly see us in seventy years having wheel chair races down ramps in the nursing home.
Theme: The theme of my life actually is best described by a quote that reads "One day your life will flash before your eyes, just make sure it is worth watching." I believe that this quote relates to my life because of the many experiences I have had and that I try to have fun experiences. I have great experiences and adventures in Mexico, South America, Canada, Florida, and Utah. These experiences have definitly made my life more interesting and a lot of fun to live.
Internal Conflict: An internal conflict that I have had to face is my lack of organization. My messiness has gotten me bad grades (my binder is so messy that I can't find materials to study with) and I was grounded for being messy (under my bed my dad found under a pile of clothes a bottle of nail polish remover laid on its side about an inch away from a plugged in wire. He also found two years worth of Halloween candy.Apparently that can attract rodents. That did not go over well with him.)
Lastly, my unorganization caused my sister to move out of the room we shared, although I wouldn't consider that a problem other than the fact that she no longer will clean my room for me because she cannot stand to be associated with my filth anymore. I am working toward fixing this problem; it has gone on too long.
