S: New York

FC: N E W | Y O R K | Another view of

On my recent trips to New York, I thought I'd try to capture the city from some normal and not-so-normal views. These are all done with my cell phone camera when something caught my eye. Thought my girls like to see things from a different perspective.

 Iconic...

 ...to Ironic

 over the top...

 ...to underneath

Carnegie Hall | Named after steel magnate Andrew Carnegie. Also well know for all of the Carnegie Libraries across the U.S.

 Central Park

This building is known as the Lipstick building for obvious reasons. Made famous by it's most infamous tenant, Bernie Madoff.

As the investment business goes, this firm is on top of the game at this moment. It's parent is called Blackstone and this little spinoff isn't so little.

 Broo

 klyn

Guess which one is Mom? | On the subway and the train stopped in the middle of the tunnel. I noticed outside that some graffiti was on the wall. Meaning someone had been walking through the tunnel at some point.

Mom and Deej above the gold guy thing at Rockefeller Center. They found some good shopping in the neighboring blocks, including shoe stores, but we were about to leave so it waits for the next visit.

Not sure why it's called Times Square since its a big triangle. Of all the shops you see here, guess which one we went in...yep the M&M store.

Just not as impressive during the day.

 Central Park...

 ...musicians

 The NYSE

 is very patriotic

still mixes old with the new

 is s t e e p e d in t r a d i t i o n

has a cool ceiling | And, of course, one of these just off the trading floor.

To the left is Wall Street and you can see how it gets its name. On the right in that picture is the NYSE building that has the fence around it with very tight security to get in. Behind it is the first bank J.P. Morgan built and it has no name on it including today. In 1922 folks got mad and they set off a bomb in the street in front of the building. The pock marks from the shrapnel is still in the marble facade today, pictured below.

Looking out from Central PArk to some of the awesome 58th Street buildings.

Very cool stained glass front to a pub on Madison Avenue.

 Park Avenue

Some of the randomness that is New York. The shot above shows some strange art through a window reflecting the business of the city.

A trip to New York just isn't complete without the taxi driver nearly getting run over by the semi as we pass at 75mph on the very narrow Brooklyn bridge.
