2: Dinner Survivor Contrast Poem | The family ate their dinner, Devouring their food. The children squealed and fought, While the parents all conversed. Yet, through it all they smiled, All so full of life. | The man stared at a picture, His arm in a sling. For he was the lone survivor Of the fatal crash.
5: Storm Haiku | A bad storm appears In the middle of the day, Winds blowing harshly. A flash of lightning And the rumble of thunder. The rain forms puddles. People splash around, Holding their umbrellas high, Trying to stay dry.
6: Poetry is Not for Me Sonnet | I don't like poetry. I don't know what to write. Someone please save me, I think that I might die. My paper is blank And when I saw ten lines, My heart completely sank. One more and I'll have nine, But I must not procrastinate For that would surely seal my fate!

8: I run around, Trying to survive, Since I was one who Was practically sacrificed. The Hunger Games, Made by the Capitol, Is just a way to Control the Districts. I wonder about Prim and Gale, my best friend. Are they watching me? Then there's also Peeta, The boy with the bread. He's survived, too, But he won't last long. It's nearing the end, Six tributes left In this horrible 'Game'. I have to make it, Get to that feast. It's my only chance To save Peeta's life. I have to win. | THE HUNGER GAMES Free Verse
