2: Egypt Egypt contains the worlds longest river, the Nile. The people of Egypt were polytheistic. They had a ruler that they believed was a god called a pharaoh. They used the method of mummification to preserve dead bodies for the "afterlife". The Egyptians built pyramids to house the mummified Pharaohs dead bodies. They used Hieroglyphics as their written language. Slavery was used in this river valley. The Nile frequently flooded leaving the area fertile. The farmers made irrigation ditches to water their farms with the excess water.
4: Mesopotamia | Mesopotamia was also called the Fertile Cresent. Mesopotamia used a written language called Cueniform. Mesopatamia literally means "land between two Rivers. In the early years it was ruled by Sumarian cities. Mesopatamians were polytheistic. The king was at the top of the social class. Was located between the Tigris and Eurphrates rivers. In Mesopatamias culture, the men were far more pwerful than the women. math was based on Sexagasimal Numeric System. Is located in present day Iraq
6: Indus | Located between the Indus River and the Ganges river. Monsoons occur frequently. The rivers flood leaving the valleys soil fertile. Found in Indian, which is a subcontinent. Planned their cities on the first grid system. Strong central goverment. One of the first plumbing and sewage systems. The valley was found in 1842. Had a civilized Urban culture throught its history. Most who lived here were skilled artisans
8: China | Located on the Yellow River Valley. Is the river that is farthest North in China Domesticated animals early on. Someone name Yellow Emporor invented goverent there. Has expanded intothe China we know today. Is btween the Yellow and Yangtze Rivers. Used Feudilism Beleived in the Mandate of Heaven. made wooden buildings. The Family in China was and is the most important thing. The father was the head of the house
