2: Indus Valley The Indus Valley lies between the Indus & Ganges Rivers. Priests were the highest rank people in the Indus society because they were the only ones who gave offerings to the gods. The women of Indus Valley wore jewelry of gold and precious stones. The people of the Indus Valley were polytheistic. The people in Indus Valley enjoyed dances and had great skill working with metals.

3: The Indus Valley was the beginning of the Hindu Culture. | The Indus Valley Civilization had their own written language. | The people of the Indus Valley believed in a strong central government. | The Himalayas are to the north of the Indus Valley. | The houses in Indus Valley were made one or two stories high, made of baked brick, and had flat roofs.

5: China | The China Civilization is between Yellow and Yangtze Rivers. The people of China followed and believed in Feudalism. The China civilization saw their culture as the center of the civilized world. The people of Ancient China believed in the "Mandate of Heaven."(The ruler had divine approval) The China Civilization made wood buildings. Roads and canals were built in the civilization to stimulate trade and agriculture. The people of China considered tea as one of their seven basic necessities. Chinese was the language that was spoken from the Han Dynasty. The people of China wore tunics. The Chinese Civilization invented the compass. The people of China invented gunpowder.

6: Egypt | ~ Egypt is based around the Nile River. ~Pharaohs rule as kings in Egypt; they are seen as gods. ~Egyptians used hieroglyphics as writing. ~The Nile River provides fertile land for the ancient Egyptians. ~Egyptians believed in mummification.

7: ~The Egyptians were polytheistic ~Ancient Egypt invented the 365 days calender and the 24 hour division of the day. | ~In Ancient Egypt, silver was considered more valuable than gold. | ~Ancient Egyptians did not celebrate birthdays. ~Amulets were worn in Ancient Egypt to "ward off evil."

8: ~Mesopotamia was often called the "Cradle of Civilization" because Mesopotamia was the location of the world's 1st civilization. ~The king of Mesopotamia, King Hammurabi, came up with the "Hammurabi's code." ~Women were not as equal to men in Mesopotamia, but they still had rights. ~Sumerians made up the 60-second time frame.

9: Mesopotamia | ~Mesopotamians used cuneiforms in there writing. ~Mesopotamia means "A land between two rivers." ~Mesopotamians used plowing to make farming easier for the crops. ~Surmia and Babylon were always at war in Mesopotamia. ~Mesopotamian' s religion did not believe in the after-life. They believed that all good and bad people go under-ground as ghosts and eat dirt. ~Slaves were considered low class that were controlled by higher ranked authority; such as, kings, priests, and elders.
