BC: Be safe! | Group 7-1 | Safety 101

1: Written by: Tamara Cook Rebecca Dillingham Kassidy Warren

2: Operating equipment | You may operate equipment only if you have been instructed in it's use and safety by the instructor

4: Tornado | Calmly move to the back of the room away from the windows. | Stay completely silent during the drill.

5: The signal for a tornado is an announcement from the office over the intercom. | Sit on your knees, facing the wall, with your head down and covered.

6: Fire | The signal for fire is the fire alarm. | Calmly form a line at the door.

7: Follow instructor out the door to the left,, at the next hall turn left, and out of the building at the end of the hall. | Form a line in the grass. | Stay completely silent during the drill.

8: Electrical cords | Electrical cords should be removed from outlets by pulling the PLUG.

9: Do not pull the cord or the equipment.

10: Work Area | You should inspect your work area for the following hazards: - Flickering Lights - Frayed Wires - Burning Odors

12: Equipment problems | If you are having problems with your equipment, you should inform the instructor. | Do not ignore the problem.

13: Do not attempt to repair the problem yourself. | Do not inform the principal. The instructor will inform the principal if necessary.

14: Injuries | An Injury should be reported to an instructor immediately.

16: Paper Cutter | The blade of the paper cutter should be down after each use.

17: Do not leave the blade in the up position because it may fall and cause an injury.

18: File Cabinets | Do not place heavy loads in the top drawer. The file cabinet may fall over. | Only one drawer of the file cabinet should be open at a time.

19: Heavy loads should be placed at the bottom drawer of the file cabinet. | Opening one drawer at a time may cause the file cabinet to fall over.

20: Lifting Heavy Loads | Do not use your back to lift the heavy load.

21: When lifting heavy loads you should use your legs to lift.

22: Chairs | Rolling in chairs from one workstation to another is not acceptable.

23: The chair should remain at your workstation at all times.

24: Equipment | Moving equipment from one workstation to another is not acceptable.

25: Only move equipment if the instructor tells you to do so.

26: Fire Extinguisher | Fire Extinguisher | It is important to know the location of the closest fire extinguisher.

28: Liquid | Avoid liquid spills on the equipment.

29: Liquid is not allowed in the computer room.

31: No food should be near the computers.It could get on the computer and make it dirty.

32: Do not play in chairs because you could fall and hurt yourself.

35: Do not download anything on the computer without permission. It could cause the computer to become slow or get a virus.

36: Do not play or touch the cords connecting to the computer. You could mess them up or even hurt yourself.
