1: Impact of the Declaration of Independence | The Declaration of Independence is important since it formally stated that the 13 colonies were breaking away from England and why. This had a lasting impact since if there wasn't a Declaration of Independence written, American wouldn't have formally declared independence.

2: Lexington and Concord April 19, 1775: British troops were sent to capture supplies and weapons. The colonists fought back drove the British back. This event was significant since it was the first battle of the revolution and proved that the Patriots were willing to die for what they believed in. | Battles and Events of the American Revolution | Bunker Hill June 16, 1775: Patriots defended the Breed's Hill from the British commanded by General Howe and drove them back several times. The British finally won though. The significance of this event was that the British learned not to underestimate the Americans

3: Saratoga October 1777: British troops were surrounded by the Americans. The British commander expected reinforcements that never came. The British troops were forced to surrender. The significance of this event was that it convinced other countries such as France to join the fight against the British. | Valley Forge Winter 1777-1778: The American troops were low on food and supplies causing many troops to desert. Thomas Paine's The American Crisis was read to the troops to help morale. The significance of this event was that the American troops survived the winter.

4: Yorktown October 1781: Americans fooled the British into thinking they were going to attack a different place. The British were outnumbered and the French Navy helped to secure victory. The British General Cornwallis was forced to surreneder to General Washington. The significance of this battle was that it ended the war. | Treaty of Paris 1783: This treaty stated that the Britain had to recognize the United States as an independent nation, gave the U.S. the territory between the Atlantic and Mississippi, and more. Some people that were involved were Benjamin Franklin, John Jay, and John Adams.The significance of this event was that it officially ended the war and gave the United States a lot of land.

5: Significant Individuals: | George Washington: He was the commander of the Continental Army and led the Americans to victory over the British. His leadership greatly impacted the outcome of the war since he was a great strategists and knew how the British fought. | King George: He was the king of England during the American Revolution. He was the one who decided to punish the colonists for their actions. His actions were significant since he wanted to control the colonies and caused war between the colonies and Britain. | Thomas Paine: He was the writer of Common Sense; a pamphlet that urged Americans to join the fight against the British. His actions were significant since his writings helped the morale of the troops.

6: The Turning Point of the War | The turning point of war was at the Battle of Saratoga. This battle had a large impact since it convinced other countries such as France to join the battle against England. This battle was a very significant event of the American Revolution. | The Articles of Confederation | The strengths were that the every state had a voice. Also, another strength was that Congress was able to declare war and peace. | The weaknesses were that the states had way to much power. The states could print their own type of money and they control their taxes. Also, Congress couldn't regulate trade at all.
