FC: The Pony Express

2: Students will create a daily diary charting the adventures along the Pony Express route from the perspective of a Pony Express rider, a Native American, or the Horse.

Finished product must include: 1. Obstacles along the way 2. Food and Drink 3. Shelter or Source of Entertainment 4. Terrain and Weather
4: Students will engage in a cross curricular project about the Pony Express. Students will research history of the daily lifestyle along the Pony Express route, as well as the challenges of weather, terrain, and conflict among the riders and Native Americans. After research, students will work on the art of perspective and formal writing using a variety of multi-media resources.
