 Vivian A Oakes Born October 23, 2007 5:38PM
After being in the hospital all night and all day, you finally decided to grace us with your presence. You weighed seven pounds, seven ounces and had a ton of hair. You were so cute! We all instantly fell in love with you. | Welcome
While I rested, Grandma and Aunt Lauren took over. Grandma gave you your first bath and Aunt Lauren changed your first diaper. She was a little nervous about being around you because you were so small, but she did a great job of helping get you ready for all your visitors.
While in the hospital, you were extremely popular. Everyone wanted to hold you, and eventually I got to snuggle with you while you were asleep. | Visitors!
Goodnight, Sweetheart, well its time to go. Goodnight, Sweetheart, well its time to go. I hate to leave you, but I really must say, Goodnight, Sweetheart, goodnight. Goodnight, Sweetheart, well its time to go. Goodnight, Sweetheart, well its time to go. I hate to leave you, but I really must say, Goodnight, Sweetheart, goodnight. Well, Its 10 o'clock in the evening, Baby I just can't treat you right. I hate to leave you, Baby. Don't mean maybe, because I love you so. Goodnight, Sweetheart, well its time to go. Goodnight, Sweetheart, well its time to go. I hate to leave you, but I really must say, Goodnight, Sweetheart, goodnight. Grandma, oh and Grandpa, Won't like it if I stay too long. A few kisses in the dark, And I'll be going, Though I hate to go. | Goodnight Sweetheart
Over the River, and Through the Woods to... | ...Great Grandma's House. We Go! We took our very first road trip to Medford in November. During our visit, we went shopping and got your Christmas pictures done.
Like most babies you won't remember your first Christmas, but Aunt Lauren was more than happy to help open your presents while you were warm and snoozing in your blankets. | Holidays!
You had lots of fun in your pink bouncer. You even pretended to be Uncle Brian a time or two. You had the makings of a little tomboy, but when we dressed you for Grandma's birthday you looked like such a lady and you've been that way ever since.
This was a big month for you! You got to start eating baby food and sit at the table with everyone at dinner. Plus now that you were getting stronger, you were even ready to start ridding on Grandpa's back. I'm not sure which of you liked that more! | February
March | At this point you were really getting the knack of holding your bottle. One of your favorite places to drink it was on the kitchen rug. You looked darling for you first Easter in the outfit that Grandma got for you. There weren't any bonnets your size, so I made the one you wore. You kept playing with the silky ribbon on it. One of your favorite things was the hokey-pokey with Grandma. You would just laugh and laugh and laugh!
April | One major discovery was the mirror! You loved to be in front of it! Making faces, touching your reflection, and giving it kisses!
You were definitely starting to pick up speed this month! You would cruise around our kitchen while I was washing dishes or making dinner. You would especially get a kick out of playing peak-a-boo with the tablecloth! You also liked to play with my cellphone and would sneak off with it if I wasn't paying close enough attention.
June & July | You always loved being in the tub, but you really liked it when Grandpa and I took you swimming. You kicked and splashed everywhere, but didn't care much for getting the water in your face!
August & September | You really decided to give us a run for it one day and climbed all the way up the stairs at Grandma and Grandpa's! You were so proud of yourself when you got to the top! In addition to climbing, you also did a lot of furniture walking. You weren't ready to go it alone just yet, which was nice because it was getting more difficult to keep track of you already!
My goodness, a whole year had gone by already! We had a party for you at Papa's Pizza and you got to have your very own cake! You started out eating it with a fork, but soon figured out that it would be much faster to use your hands. I was so glad I brought another outfit for you, because you had chocolate cake absolutely everywhere! | October
