1: Roger's love of blacksmithing started because of being involved in his son Ben's life. They were in Royal Rangers and then in FCF-Frontier Camping Fellowship and there you needed a pre-1830 skill. He thought that if he had lived back then he would have been a preacher or a blacksmith, since there was a preacher he became a blacksmith.

26: Ooh How He Loves The Anvil’s Ring On any day at any time, he may hear the beck and cry; So out he goes, to do his thing... ooh how he loves the anvil’s ring. His feet does led him straight to his forge, and he heaps it full of coal; Yes, he loves its warmth and glow... ooh how he loves the anvil’s ring. When learning comes so naturally, his mind is whiling, what shall he make; But art, this is a brand new thing... ooh how he loves the anvil’s ring. He takes the cold and lifeless steel, he now has something he can feel; With hammer and tongs, he makes the strike... ooh how he loves the anvil’s ring. Into the fire it goes again, just like God testing man; He loves the shaping of this art... ooh how he loves the anvil’s ring.

27: It’s heated, pounded, again and again, by the masters mighty hand; The lifeless steel is at its end ... ooh how he loves the anvil’s ring. It doesn’t matter what he makes, from nothing he has given life; Yes, he loves what he is doing... ooh how he loves the anvil’s ring. A gift from God is in these hands, for it was He, that gave life to man; He who molds and also shapes... ooh how he loves the anvil’s ring. So he takes what he has made, to share with those that he holds dear; A gift form this modern pioneer ... ooh how he loves the anvil’s ring. Roger, the love of my life for 25 years, happy anniversary Your devoted caring wife, with much love and many prayers, Penny, your forever Chicken
