FC: U.S History | Adilene Salas & Mayra Leon | Period 6

1: . On July The task of drafting the declaration went to the youngest member, Thomas Jefferson. On July 4 , the delegates approved a final version of the declaration of independence, one by one signed it .

2: One of the weaknesses Americans had was the constitutional Army was always short on men . One of their strengths was that George Washington was more than just an experienced military leader . However , British weakness was not having a good transportation . They sure had a professional army of 50,000 troops .

3: After declaring independence in 1776 congress had tried to unite the states under one national government. Their solution was a plan called the “Articles of Confederation.”

4: Congress passed the Indian Removal Act it allowed the president to make treaties in which the Native Americans in the East trade their lands for new territory on the Great Plains.

6: Woman abolitionists were in a strange position. They were trying to convince law makers to make slavery illegal, yet themselves could not hold office or vote. The first meeting to discuss woman rights took place in Seneca Falls.
