S: My Mind's Eye photography by Kay Newkirk
BC: Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain.
FC: My Mind's Eye
The medium of photography can record not only what the eyes see, but that which the mind's eye sees as well. The camera is not only an extension of the eye, but of the brain. It can see sharper, farther, nearer, slower, faster than the eye. It can see by invisible light. It can see in the past, present and future. Instead of using the camera only to reproduce objects,I wanted to use it to make what is invisible to the eye, visible. Wynn Bullock
I wish you a very good journey, to an unknown you've never seen. Peter V. Admiraal
This was taken near Cairo, IL. It was very humbling to me to see all of the graves marked "unknown soldier", knowing there was a family somewhere wondering about their loved one.
I love migration time for the hummingbirds. I will sit outside for hours just watching them.
I've been fortunate over the past few years to be able to see the bears at Cades Cove. It always thrills me to see them!
The best, the most exquisite automobile is a walking stick; and one of the finest things in life is going on a journey with it. Robert Coates | Burgess Falls in Cookeville, TN
The images on these two pages were taken in or around Hesston, KS
Feigning a broken wing to keep me away from the nest. | Watching the babies hatch was awesome! As you can see, they are born with their feathers. Once they get dry, they are taught how to forage for bugs.
Niagra Falls from the Canadian side. American Falls is on the left; Horseshoe Falls is on the right. I made this trip with Sandy in 2011.
 American Falls at night
 Cades Cove Deer
This was the first time in a long time I'd seen deer in snow. Christmas day, 2010, in Carlyle, IL | I saw this elk on the North Carolina side of the Smokies.
Sandy and I went on another road trip to the New England states in 2009. These images are from that trip.
Mike and I went on a trip to the UP of Michigan in the fall of 2011. This is just a few of the many images from there.
Time is a companion that goes with us on a journey. It reminds us to cherish each moment, because it will never come again. What we leave behind is not as important as how we have lived. | Jean Luc Picard
The experiences are so innumerable and varied, that the journey appears to be interminable and the Destination is ever out of sight. But, the wonder of it is, when at last you reach your Destination, you find that you had never traveled at all! It was a journey from here to Here. | Meher Baba
