FC: April 15th-23rd 2011 | While you were sleeping... | Rocket's trip to Ireland.
When my friend Molly went to Ireland with her Mom, Grandma and Grandpa, I thought it would be fun to tag along!
The first day we spent A LOT of time traveling in cars, on planes, and on buses... Phew! I met Grandma and Grandpa in the airport in New York and then we all flew together over the ocean. Thank goodness I got a good seat! | Good boy
After we finally arrived in Ireland, I was SO TIRED! Molly and her family were so excited to be there that they went to see the Cliffs of Moher while I slept in the car. I hear they were amazing. After some shopping and eating our first Irish meal (stew! yum!), we headed to the first Bed & Breakfast where we were stopping for the night. | We stayed at a little family farm in the town of Doolin. I had a great view of the ocean from our window. I also loved watching the cows that lived on the farm... Moo!
On Sunday we got up early and caught a ferry to Inisheer, one of the Aran Islands. A nice man and his horse, Molly took us on a quick tour. My favorite sight was the shipwreck!
 Ireland rocks!! | Inis Oírr
Molly's Great-Great Grandfather's House! | After having dinner at Molly's cousin's house in Ballacolla Sunday night, we spent Monday visiting the house her ancestors grew up in, the school they went to... | ...the church they attended, and even saw the field where they played hurling!
One of Molly's ancestors was the goalie on the 1915 Championship Hurling Team!
So much shopping, so little time! | Enjoying a Guinness! | Dublin!
Molly's Grandpa found a good place to stop! | Molly and me with Molly Malone! | Port Laoise
 Blarney Castle!
Wednesday we traveled to Blarney, home of the Blarney Castle! Molly's Grandma, Grandpa & I all got to kiss the Blarney Stone! Then Molly was hungry, and we both needed some play time, so we found a good spot to relax and I got to hang out with some very friendly Irish cows again. Moo!
Next we drove to Cobh Harbor to learn about where Molly's family left Ireland from. We learned all about the ship they traveled on, too! Then we got a bird's eye view of the harbor at a church WAY up on the hill.
Cobh Harbor! | Cobh was an interesting town, for sure! A lot of it seemed like it was built sideways! It was so warm that we after some shopping we stopped and got some ice cream. Mmmm...
Inch Beach | On the way to the Bed & Breakfast we were staying on the Dingle Peninsula, we found Inch Beach and decided to stop and have dinner on the sand.
What a beautiful view we had at one of our last nights here! | Ceann Tra Heights
Dingle Peninsula | On our last day we took a tour of the Dingle Peninsular with Denis Ryan, who drove us all over showing us really cool cliffs, beaches, old stone buildings and my favorite... sheep! It was windy, cold and rainy, but beautiful!
Last day in Eire! | On Saturday we had to pack up all of our bags and head back to the airport to fly home. It was such a fun and exciting trip... but I was ready to be back on Char Mar Drive with all my friends.
Thanks for taking me with you! Love, Rocket
