1: At twilight, kookaburras make loud, long calls that sound like laughter to let all know the boundaries of their territory
2: Kookaburras mate for life, living in pairs or small family groups.
3: Chicks are born blind and naked, taking a month for their feathers to fill in.
4: When the mother kookaburra has had its egg if there is older siblings they stay by the nest to keep they eggs safe.
5: Kookaburras live in Eastern Australia and have been introduced to different parts of Australia.
6: Kookaburras eat insects, worms and crustaceans, although small snakes, mammals, frogs and birds may also be eaten.
7: They leave the nest when they are about one month old.
8: Kookaburras are known around Australia mostly because of the song.
9: They can live for more than 20 years.
