BC: My First Surgery I got my first Surgery at the age of 9. It was a bad experience for me. My sister, age 8, had thrown a chair at me hitting my lips. It broke a part of my lip and eventually grew a bubble on the site. The doctors had said that I had broken a saliva tube inside my lips. He told me that it salivates the mouth when one eats to start the breakdown of food. I had the surgery and was in a lot of pain for about a week. I was not able to eat any solids. So, I was on a fluids diet for a week. I drank chocalate milk, pedialyte, soup, and more. It eventually healed and I have no scars. | My First Surgery I got my first Surgery at the age of 9. FC: My Quilt
 My Quilt (Rites of Passage)
My First Car At 16 I had gotten my first car a few days after recieving my license. I got a 1999 Ford red Mustang. It was such an awesome feeling to feel the rumble of the engine and blasting my music as loud as I could to show off my car. I felt so free!
My License at 18 I got my license the day after my birthday. I remember being so excited. I jumped up and down when I had the license in my hand that day. I also remember how happy my father was because I was really really happy. I was so grateful in having an instructor who made me feel so comfortable and was so laid back. Getting my license changed me in a way that I had the freedom to go anywhere at anytime as long as I let my parents know.
My First Puppy My first puppy was a brown chihuahua. My family and I named her Princess. She was so cute! I remember when I saw her for the first time and how excited she was to see me. She was jumping up to try and get my attention. I could see that she was very healthy and pretty active. When we took her home, she did not have a hard time adjusting to a new environment. Actually, she wanted to sleep next to me all the time and need a nite light on. She did not like other dogs but enjoyed other people. She made me appreciate animals and how to treat them at a young age.
My First Apartment On My Own When I was 18 years of age, I had left my house to live on my own. I found an apartment and lived there for about 6 months. I was so poor. I barely could afford rent and let alone electricity. I would go days without eating and when I ate it would be a piece of bread or a small cake I got from a snack machine. I was starving. I used to cry myself to sleep and worried about tomorrow. I was kicked out of my house because I wanted to join the Military and my father refused. He did not want me to join. Eventually, he became violent with me. I used to be so scared to go home and see my father. I did not want to get hit. It was a terrible time for me but I learned so much. I appreciate the poor more. I am now grateful for what I have. I have developed so much as a person and willing to give others more than what I have.
My First Job At The Gap Working at the Gap had given me skills to carry on to my future jobs. I had learnt to deal with customers and how to sell products. I had learnt leadership and complete my daily goals. I was so happy there until one of the managers had quit. When Jen had quit, I felt the store had fallen apart. Another manager had replaced her and become a monster to all of the staff. She was so cold and had such an attitude. I eventually quit due to conflict of Interest between two jobs.
When I Got My First Period I got my period at the age 11. I was so scared because I thought I was going to die. It was the day my family and I had moved to PA for the first time. Getting my period was the beginning of womanhood for me.
When I First Came To PA It was so scary coming into PA. I went into the 7th grade and did not know anyone in the area. I remember going to class on the first day and I loved it. Even though I was scared out of my mind, I made a lot of friends. It was a small school so I've gotten to know everyone within a week. I had gained confidence and went from being shy to a social butterfly. I love to be sociable and just have fun.
When I First Fell In Love I fell in love with Fiancee in 2005. Before I had met him, I was in a long-distance relationship with someone whom I never saw as a boyfriend type but as a best friend. I had left him because it was not working out. Later on, I met Kareem. He makes me feel so beautiful and makes me feel as if I can accomplish anything in life no matter how impossible it is for someone else. I feel so safe with him and loved. He makes me feel like no other. I truly love him with all of my heart and can't wait for us to wed!
