S: Cory and Marie

BC: to be continued... | Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us rid ourselves of every weight and sin that clings to us, and let us persevere in running the race that is set before us, keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith. Hebrews 12

H O W W E M E T | The first time we met was in a class in college. I remember sitting behind her in class and seeing Marie with her incredibly curly hair. I recall my first reaction of being stunned by her beauty. I remember on one of those first days chatting with her and being a bit nervous. We had a lot in common and I definitely had a little thing for Marie, but never thought it would lead to our marriage. | It was truly a one of a kind date! On my 21st birthday, Cory picked me up from my dorm. When I got in the car I was told that since I was entering the "big kid's" club being then 21, I would have my last childhood celebration so he threw me a 5 year old party! We went to the dollar store, bought toys, went to McDonald's and got Happy Meals, and played on a playground. In chalk Cory wrote "Will you go out with me? Check yes or no. I checked YES! . | O U R F I R S T D A T E

O U R F I R S T K I S S | I believe this was the first date that Marie planned after our first couple of dates. We went hiking in West Virginia. We brought a guitar along and hiked up a little into the mountain. We stopped at this part that had a good view. We played a couple of songs and I shared a couple originals. I leaned in and asked if I could kiss her, she politely replied yes, and the rest is history. Ink really doesn't do justice to the kiss itself. | I had wanted to say those infamous words so many times before, and on this particular day I just couldn't hold it in any longer, it sort of slipped out after we went on a date, but we talked about waiting and I contained myself. Then later that night, when I had least expected it, after a little bit of playful wrestling, he looked at me with big bright eyes and said, "Marie Lussier, I love you!" | F I R S T I L O V E Y O U

One of my favorite memories is our first car ride to Ann Arbor for your Grandma's birthday party. It was the moment I fell for you and I just recall so much laughter. It was so refreshing to hang out with a girl like you.

Started dating in Spring '08 | Got engaged in Fall '11 | Married in Spring '12

Our engagement was so rooted in Christ, and from that came family. Cory proposed to me before Christ in the tabernacle, and after our engagement he and my mom surprised me with a post-engagement party! I was speechless and bawling my eyes out. Nothing can describe that moment except pure joy and gratitude. | Our post engagement party! | Surprised by family

"Now, Lord, you know that I take this wife of mine not because of lust, but for a noble purpose. Call down your mercy on me and on her, and allow us to live together to a happy old age." Tobit 8:7 | Rooted in Love | .............................................. | Ephesians 3:17

"For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh." Ephesians 5:31

One of my favorite dates was when we went to Rocco's in Decatur. The best part was after dinner you took me to the top of the bell-tower of the church. I don't think we were allowed up there, but we snuck up there anyway. We had to squeeze through those tiny holes, and I got stuck! It was all worth it - the view was so beautiful

Engagement | ........................................... | September, 29, 2011 | Cory and I began our relationship playing music together. When Cory sings his gentle and passionate spirit comes out. I love singing and playing with him.

First Anniversary | Outdo one another in giving honor | ......................................... | Romans 12:10 | Making Music Together

Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Romans 12:9-12

Life-long Love | We love because he first loved us...For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister. | Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. | 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 | 1 John 4:19-21

For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two will become one flesh. This is a great mystery, and I am applying it to Christ and the church. Each of you, however, should love his wife as himself, and a wife should respect her husband. | This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers...Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth. | John 3:16, 18 | Ephesians 5:31-33

On the Road Again | What I love is the actual act of traveling. I love our car rides. When we were driving the back roads on the way back from New York City, we were cranking Avett Brothers. We stopped and just wandered around the woods for a bit. That was one of my favorites. (Cory) | .............................................. | Favorite Trips

Oh the places we will go | ................................ | Our Adventures | We love any excuse to take a trip together. Whether visiting friends or vacationing together, we love to get away! One of my favorite trips was a our first vacation which was to Mackinac Island. We had such an incredible time, camping and walking/biking all around the island. It was just the quality time we needed.

We are blessed with wonderful friendships. Cory and I have truly found treasures in our friends. We have had so many joyful experiences with our friends! Our New Year's celebrations, game nights, and random excursions have enriched our lives.

letters | Marie, A lot of times I want to use the words "you're my best friend" but that doesn't really cut it. I never knew anyone could know me this well, that I could be so intimately connected to another, you've redefined what it means to care and love someone. You've taught me more than all the books and classes that I've ever taken. You've taught me what a terrible communicator I am and how much I have to learn. But at the same time have listened to whatever mumbles have came out of my mouth and have tried to revive them with meaning. You've affirmed every part of me that makes me who I am. I can't tell you how ecstatic I am to spend the rest of my life with you. When the waters get rough I pray that we grow into better people than we ever imagined. Your willingness to work through our differences and your compassion inspires me to be a better man. Your desire for motherhood excites me and encourages my passion for starting a family. Marie, I love you and look forward to giving my life to you.

Cory, I've never been so loved as when you love me. It truly is "God who chose you" for my life, my heart, my road to salvation. Just being in your presence calls me on to holiness and to be woman of God, worth fighting for. Your marriage proposal spoke of what kind of man you are. Instead of asking, "will you marry me?" you said very intentionally, "will you die with me?" That is the beauty and glory in vowing our lives to one another. A death to our worldly and selfish desires and a call to live for another and others as God wills it. I've never been more excited and ready for something in all my life. This is what God has been preparing me for since I was a young girl. I could have never imagined you up - which goes to show God always knows better than we do. You are beyond my wildest dreams, my Love. You are an incredible gentlemen, one whom I do not deserve, but am eternally grateful for. You never hold grudges or count my wrongs. You are quick to forgive and always affirming. You are slow to respond as to think through in great care and consideration what is before you. Your virtue is transcendent. I am overjoyed to vow my life to you whole-heartedly. Thank you for making me laugh harder than anyone can, and giving me so many reasons to smile! I love you darling.
