Abe, is that You in that Snow Bank? By: Clara
2011 This book is dedicated to my parents who taught me right from wrong.
A penny saved is a penny earned, right? What about a penny found? Or better yet, a five dollar bill? I'll never forget the time I found a five dollar bill in the snow!
I was just about to go into the house for the night. As I bent down to pick up my sled, I saw something sticking out of the snow.
First, I saw a little corner. I kicked at it with my snow boot. Then I saw the number five. I scratched at it. Before I knew it I was looking at Abraham lincoln!
 JACK POT!
I was so excited! It's mine! It's mine! I'm rich! Finders keepers losers weepers, right?
As I walked to the house, my head and heart started to argue. My heart told me to keep it. My head told me that I should give it back to who it belonged to. | Uh ho! Not so fast!
What do I do? What do I do? What do I do?
My head won. I decided that the money should go back to its owner. My heart was sad. Mom said she was proud of me (which made my heart feel a little bit better). Mom helped me make a poster. It said: Money Lost. Call 555-1111. We hung it up on a light pole.
We waited 10 days. I was nervous each time the phone rang. Guess what? Nobody claimed the money! The five dollar bill was mine after all!
So you can see, it's always best to do what is right. So, who won... my heart or my head? I guess I'll call it a tie!
