BC: The end :)
Once there was a big, brown bear who lived in the woods and his name was Brownie. One day he decided to take a walk in the forest.
First, he came to a stream and saw his friend Turtle. Turtle said, “Brownie, jump into the water and catch a fish.” Brownie thought about it for a minute and a little inner voice said, “Brownie, you can’t swim.” However, Brownie ignored this inner voice and jumped into the stream. Suddenly, a big wave came and carried him downstream. Brownie was in a bit of trouble. Luckily, a tree branch appeared and Brownie was able to pull himself to shore. “Gee, that was close,” Brownie thought.
Next, Brownie came upon his friend Squirrel by a log. “Reach into the log and grab some honey,” Squirrel said. Brownie thought about it for a moment and a little inner voice said, “Brownie, you might get stung by bees.” However, Brownie reached into the log anyway. “Ouch!” Brownie was stung by a bunch of bees.
However, Brownie reached into the log anyway. “Ouch!” Brownie was stung by a bunch of bees.
Then Brownie came across his friend Monkey by a tree. “Brownie, climb up this really tall, thin tree and get some bananas.” Brownie heard a little inner voice say, “Brownie, you are too big to climb that thin, tall tree.”
However, Brownie did not listen and he climbed up into the tree.
“Snap!” The tree limb broke and Brownie landed on his bottom with a thud. “Wow, that sure hurts,” Brownie thought.
Finally, Brownie came across his friend Bird by a cliff. “Brownie, jump off the cliff and see if you can get the nuts on the ledge below,” Bird said. But, this time Brownie listened to the little inner voice when it said, “Brownie, you will die if you jump off a cliff!”
So, Brownie told his friend Bird, “No, I won’t jump off a cliff for nuts.” The lesson Brownie learned that day in the forest was it is always important to listen to your inner voice instead of the voice of others.
