2: The Early life of Chuck Palahniuk | On February 21, 1962 Charles Michael Palahniuk was born in Paso, Washington. Palahniuk was raised in a mobile home in Burbank, Washington.
3: When he was 14 years old his parents, Fred and Carol Palahniuk, divorced and he and his siblings were sent to live with their grandparents. Palahniuk never knew his father’s parents because when his father was 3 years old he watched his father kill his mother and turn the gun on himself. Charles Palahniuk graduated from Columbia High School in Burbank in 1980 Palahniuk attended the University of Oregon and graduated in 1986 with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism degree.
4: Palahniuk’s first attempt at writing a novel in his mid thirties was Invisible Monsters but was rejected by publishers. He then created Fight Club in 1996 in an effort to disturb publishers even more than he did with Invisible Monsters. In 1999, Fight Club was released as a movie. | Life of Palahniuk
5: Also in 1999, Palahniuk’s father and his father’s girlfriend were murdered by her ex-husband. He began writing Lullaby in attempt to cope with their murder. He currently lives with his partner and their two dogs in Oregon and in Washington.

All souls come here to rub the sharp edges off each other. All of us, we're meant to be worn smooth by conflict and pain of every kind. To be polished. There was nothing bad about this. This wasn't suffering. It was erosion. It was just another, a basic, an important step in the refining process.” I chose this quote from the book Haunted because it’s saying that we all have to go through pain to become who we are.
