I am from a single, distinct star, From where love and tranquility are at their best. I am from a bumpy road of aunts and uncles, From Double-dutch and hopscotch with cousins on the chalked and marked sidewalk. I'm from the neighborhood where hustlers hustled with hats hanging on heads for pride, Where even if pants draped low, dribbles still continued to go by With sweat dripping from my home-girl's brow, striving to dunk the dancing hoop. I'm from the town that has a recognition for such strength; From b-boys to b-ball to "B-yon'ce." I'm from intense brain-bashing jet shows at "the Park of Minute Maid," From where thy shall see blacks and whites, from boys to girls beating to a Chamilluionare jam. I'm from the tailgaters chomping on their Tex-Mex. While cracking the sickest, side-splitting jokes. I'm from BBQ and Chili-con-Queso, Mixed with Jazz, rich Blues, Hardcore Rap, and Folk Country dosie-dos. I'm from the exhilarating passions of music to sports, The passions that can take over a person's self-image. I'm from thrice and fourth moves, Where even then I stand in a brand-new asylum with my hat hanging from my pride-lifted head. | This Is Where I'm From

Pots and pans were banging loud Pasta and marinara bubbling proud She would soon bake the helpless fish Dead and hopeless I asked her not to it was my only dying wish; But she had no choice for she knew; soon the dinner room would be full of a crowd My mother's kitchen was worn with age With the dog in one corner, barking in his cage She kept the kitchen nice and neat With the oven as her most solid machine But she would soon modernize her home with the new coming age. Over my mother's weakening shoulder My sister watched as though she was strong and so much bolder She begged wanting so badly to help my mother stir the meal But my mother decided to fool her instead and made her a deal She promised her she could mix that food when it got a little safer and colder My mom now reached in the fridge It was now time to make some porridge The salads and green vegetables were all ready and set The children would not touch those, ten buck I bet I told my mother loud and clear that they would rather jump off a bridge. The meal was now ready for the family of eight As the children of the house set out the plates My mother's kitchen was so warm and open It was her place to make gifts, her little happiness tokens It was my mother's place and it would always be her god given fate. | My Mother's Kitchen

Oh, my little girl, please keep what I say in mind; I can't put this in any other words, For life is complex and difficult. It is filled with hurdles and high jumps, Starts off increasing in height, Keeps increasing, My hurdles were as high as the moon once. Life is short, always live you life to the fullest, Risks and mistakes will occur, Without a doubt, you will make mistakes, But it is your responsibility to learn from them. As did I. Corners and stops fill up some parts of life, No matter what, Get an amazing education. Learn to your greatest potential, For it will aid you through the long run. One thing you will learn in life, There are people far less fortunate than you. Stand hand in hand with those people, It'll prove that even if life is bad Good can be done. Praise will come to you through such works, It'll be the base and foundation of your life. My sweet, innocent, nave daughter Keep moving through the hardships through life, Keep jumping the hurdles even if their height is impeccable. Your immense input into the tough work will return the favor in the end. | Mother To Daughter Advice For Life

When you can use something, the noun will bring you anything From house, or garden, to a boat or swing. Instead of noun which doesn't give you much power you may prefer something that gives you control, the pronouns you, or I, or her. All you have to do is give the pronouns a quick ring. When you're in the mood for a little fun Take the epic stories of the famous poets and make a quick run Through the figurative language and vivid scenes With the perfect ending of the famous kings and queens Nothing is more perfect than Mia Angelou and the way she gets it done. When you've got a lot to do, An action verb's the word for you. Verbs can do most anything It's the word you use when you are just dying to dance and sing It can help you through it all; all it needs to do is give one loud “achoo!” When you want to be forever, the conjunctions join two words together. Like brides and grooms or wind and weather. Prepositions go running after the anxious noun As in or through or under or just wrapped around. It's the most complicated of them all but can be a delicate and light as a falling feather When you need some excitement, an interjection brings about such a huge surprise As Oh! How perfect, or Ah! That was so wise! How things are done are the stories the adverbs will tell As slowly the people awake, quickly running through the day, in the end wishing all is well. In the end these are just a few of Language Arts precious prizes. | What Language Arts Is

We're driving slow through the snow On fifth avenue And right now radio is All that we can hear Man we ain't talked since we left It's so overdue It's cold outside But between us It's worse in here The world slows down but my heart beats fast right now I know this is the part where the end starts I can't take it any longer Thought that we were stronger All we do is linger Slipping through our fingers I don't want to try now All that's left is goodbye to Find a way that I can tell you I hate this part right here I hate this part right here I just can't take your tears I hate this part right here Everyday seven takes of the same old scene Seems we're bound by the laws of the same routine Gotta talk to you now 'fore we go to sleep But will we sleep once I tell you what's hurting me | The world slows down but my heart beats fast right now I know this is the part where the end starts I can't take it any longer Thought that we were stronger All we do is linger Slipping through our fingers I don't want to try now All that's left is goodbye to Find a way that I can tell you I hate this part right here I hate this part right here I just can't take your tears I hate this part right here I know you'll ask me to hold on And carry on like nothing is wrong But there is no more time for lies Cause I see sun set in your eyes I can't take it any longer Thought that we were stronger All we do is linger Slipping through our fingers I don't want to try now All that's left is goodbye to Find a way that I can tell you But I gotta do this I gotta do it I gotta do it I hate this part I gotta do it I gotta do it I gotta do it I hate this part right here I hate this part right here I just can't take these tears I hate this part right here

The rhyme scheme for this song's course is: A,A, B, B, D, C, C, E, E, E, E!!! Some verses have the rhyme scheme: A, A, B, B!!! | This song is talking about a love that is fading away slowly. The word choice and intense phrases in the song set the mood to a gloomy and depressing day. | White-Rhymes Green-Repetition Yellow-Paradox

The ocean is a blue cliché, The pink sunset a rough-edged neon light through the smog. Sand and seaweed scuff my toes in the tender spots, Pillow the tough heels of my wave-buried feet and Slowly cover my ankles. There is sand everywhere, On my face and hands, Carried by the waves onto my clothes, Even in the air as it is flung back, Back into the sea that will toss and churn it And round the sharper grains So that some child's small pink feet Will one day feel them, Soft under the soft-skinned toes Of one not even thought of yet On our sand grain of a world.

This is a free verse poem!!! | This poem is describing a person enjoying the luxuries of a beach. This person is satisfied, and content. | Hourglass

Ode to GSMST, Where perfect isn't even a word of description. Ode to GSMST, Where the best of students are made! GSMST is wonderful, It's a school of a variety of studies. Where many “scholars” can come together and learn. GSMST is wonderful! Science has an endless name and meaning at this school, For the students will increase curiosity after every discovery. GSMST is wonderful! Mathematics has an endless name and meaning at this school, For students will always calculate numbers, and find numbers and quantities beyond infinity. GSMST is wonderful! Technology has an endless name and meaning at this school, For students will produce more designs; they will invent objects scientist and engineers could only dream of. Ode to GSMST, For this school is not devoted to one subject, but to 3 and more. Science. Mathematics. And technology But that's not the end.
